You can compare the images of the honeycomb-like graphic that shows the individual paints from each set. On the top row, I noticed "Wolf Grey" as an additional paint.
These paints are designed for plastic miniatures, but they can also be used on metal if properly primed first; simply clean the surface gently before priming, wait for the primer to dry, and you're ready to go!

The paints are very vibrant. I know this because the majority of the included shades and colors have been applied to both my desk and myself. I can't blame the paints or Army Painter for this, in good conscience. They did send a small card, which I discovered hidden among the pages of the set's painting guide. I didn't notice the card, which states that you should shake it before opening it. This is something I didn't do because my set included mixing balls. So when I first opened the box, I wanted to toss in the balls right away. br>br>All right, let's see what we've got. If you don't mix the paint first, your bottles will erupt into glorious volcanoes of oozing very thick paint when you first open them (because it wasn't mixed yet). The thick pigment was the one that oozed out). So be on the lookout! BEFORE OPENING THE BOTTLES, GIVE THEM A GOOD SHAKE. A bubbling/pressure sound is the first sign that you're about to take a bath. Metallics appeared to be the worst, with the highest pressure. I'm pretty sure I misplaced a couple of models from each of them. All of this is to say. . . The mixing balls have arrived, and my desk and I have been thoroughly cleaned. So far, the paints and lesson learned have satisfied me! I'd recommend them, and I'll keep purchasing them in the future. Just a heads up! BEFORE YOU USE THEM, MAKE SURE THEY ARE WELL SHAKEN. THE FIRST TIME OPENING!.
This kit was exactly what I needed to get started painting my Warhammer 40K models, and it did not disappoint! It can be intimidating for a newcomer to the hobby to have to purchase so many models in order to begin playing matches and assembling a respectable force, especially when you also have to paint them! br>br>With this painting kit, that's no longer an issue. issue! The paint is a little thick at first, but it thins out nicely with a little water, and it adheres well to rustolium primer or the included brush-on primer. It also mixes well with other paints to create your own tones, and there's a lot of it. You won't find a better deal at this price.
I bought these paints to give my miniatures some color for my weekly D&D game. D games. The vast majority of the paints were incredibly easy to work with. The mixing balls make it easy to agitate the paint after it's been sitting for a while, and the color saturation is lovely even when thinned. Most of the paints are a little too thick to use straight from the bottle, but this can easily be remedied by adding a little thinner medium or even just water. br>br>I've only had three issues with this box so far- br>br>My Desert Yellow bottle has a hard time completely sealing, resulting in clogs on the nozzle that I have to clear with a paperclip before use. br>br>Pixie Pink has a strange lumpy texture that no amount of shaking will remove; however, once on the palette, it's simple to stir with a brush to achieve a smooth consistency. Orc Blood will not mix in the bottle. br>br> I've put two mixing balls in the bottle, and no matter how hard I shake it, the paint always comes out swirled and with different levels of pigmentation. However, unlike Pixie Pink, the texture is smooth, and the paint can be stirred to homogenize it once it's out of the bottle. br>br>Apart from the three paints mentioned above, the rest of the set has been quite lovely. I wish there were more browns and reds to choose from, but those extra colors are simple to find later. Last but not least, These paints have a tendency to have a gloss finish rather than a matte finish, so if that's not what you want, you might want to pick up some matte varnish rattlecans to kill some of the shine and add a layer of protection to your paint jobs once they're done.
A little goes a long way with this product, and the eye drop tips make it much easier to lightly release it. However, I only gave it four stars because when I opened some of the bottles (perhaps 6 or 7) it appeared that they had been squeezed beforehand, causing a mess inside the cap and on my hands. Also, even after shaking with the metal ball inside, about ten of the paints are still very liquidy, as if they're half water, and I couldn't use them on my minis (some blues, reds, and a silver).
It's of the highest quality, as with all Army Painter products. br>br>I can't tell you how much using dropper bottles has improved my painting. When it comes to mixing paint and colors, there's a lot less waste, but it's a lot easier. "Three drops this, two drops that, one drop that," I can keep track of. " In my opinion, measuring drops is much easier than measuring scoops from the pot. br>br>This was an excellent deal on an excellent "core" set. It contains all of my requirements. Of course, I'll buy the fill in colors I want, but this kit contains everything I require.
If you don't want to watch a lot of Youtube videos on how to blend and such, there are plenty of great examples in the documentation to guide you. Because most of the colors have a natural step up or down, there is no need to mix hi/lo lites. With 7 washes included, you essentially have "skill in a bottle" if you're not very good or just learning to paint in contrast; they easily go over your paints and make the final product look fantastic. Because the nozzles are so precise, it's easy to apply exactly the right amount of paint every time.
