It could be a little thinner. This paint would be thin enough if you filled the air space in a brand new jar with it.

The black parts of an expensive pair of Italian eyeglass frames were refinished by me. It applies smoothly and evenly. It was a little too glossy, so I toned it down a little with some triple-distilled water. To achieve a nice patina, use 0 steel wool.

Tamiya continues to impress with their excellent paint

These paints are water-soluble, but they lay down nicely on a model. When painting a model, experiment with different shades of black to create interest. Especially if you're working on a car model with a black interior.
