Questions & Answers

Is this camera compatible with the Synology surveillance system [nas]?

Yes, RLC is correct. 410- A synology surveillance system nas can be used with 5MP.

Is there anything else I should do to get these to work properly? I connected the ethernet cable, but nothing happened, and the app was unable to connect them. ?

These are PoE (Power Over Ethernet) cameras, which means they must be connected to Ethernet ports in order to receive power. You could also use a separate power supply from the break-in power supply to power them. The camera cord has an out connector (separate purchase).

What type of power adaptor is required to run this camera? Reolink manufacturer, could you please respond?

Hello, I'm looking for a Reolink RLC- 410- The power adapter should be rated at DC 12V 2/1A for 5MP. For power supply, you can use a POE switch or injector. Please ensure that the PoE injector/switch is an 802.11b/g/n device. 3af  Active mode is supported and is compliant (48V).

Is this camera compatible with the rtmp protocol? If so, could you send me a screenshot of the rtmp network configuration page?

Hello, yes, please contact us via Amazon message or support@reolink for the image you require. More information is available at www.com.

The best deal
5/5

Overall, the installation process is fairly easy, but it can take time depending on how you want to mount your cables. I spent countless hours looking for higher quality cameras over my previous setup (Ring), and these captured my attention the most. The only time it was difficult for me was when I had to go up into the attic. br>br>All you'll need is an Ethernet cable and a PoE switch. I would recommend purchasing the cable in roles without the connector (R45). You'll have to drill 1/2'' holes in whatever you decide to put the cable through if you don't. This was my first time installing wired cameras, and the results were fantastic. The market- It pays off to start with a much higher image quality - Despite the fact that it takes a little longer to install. It's simple to set up Wifi cameras, but the headaches with connection, resolution, and pay-per-view are far more significant. cloud storage that is based on the internet All you'll need is an SD card to use these Reolinks. Switch to Poe. You can use the SD card to erase, store, and transfer files from a computer or from your phone (FREE). br>br>The only drawback I had was with one of the cameras. A piece of the sleeve snapped off the small ball joint that allows you to move the camera. Reolink is supposed to send me a replacement after I contact them. br>br>The most important thing to remember is that these cameras should not be overlooked. This is all you really need at a resolution of 2K. Also has excellent night vision!.

Surveillance that is good value for money, but there are some issues with the ecosystem
4/5

I decided I needed an extensive surveillance system to protect my property after my truck was stolen right out of my driveway with no evidence to show for it. After doing some research, I decided on Reolink because it appeared to be a good turnkey system that I could expand on later. I've had my nine-camera system up and running for over two years and am generally pleased with it. The highlights are as follows: br>br>I own a 16-channel NVR. Despite the fact that it is grossly under-researched, It's capable of reviewing video and does the job well. I think it's important to watch the video in the lowest quality possible. I have the default 2TB drive as well as a 3TB drive installed, which provides me with several months of motion alerts. In the long run, I'll build a Blue Iris PC for NVR purposes, but it's not at the top of my priority list right now. br>br>The cameras themselves are quite good. The quality of daylight is quite good, and it serves the most important purpose of identification. The ability to see at night is incredible. So, but when it comes to a budget camera, it's fantastic. There are cameras on the market that provide better IR and night vision, but the Reolink provides a good value between quality and price, and I have a mix of the older 4MP and these newer 5MP cameras. There is a difference, but it isn't huge, and I'm glad they're close in price. br>br>The software ecosystem is only so-so. The PC version of the Reolink application is far from ideal. It does the job, but it has a few flaws. The cameras' configuration is fairly good; it's easy to find what you want to program and applying settings is simple. Reviewing video from the NVR or cameras takes patience, and you can only review four camera feeds at a time. I wish there were a few more features, but almost all of the problems I've had with the software can be solved by switching to a different NVR. Reolink is also good about providing software updates to fix issues, but they don't introduce major features that I would use most of the time. br>br>Cold performance has impressed me. Because I live in a cold climate, these cameras are not "officially" rated for it. The maximum temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Having said that, I've successfully operated the cameras all the way down to - They can withstand temperatures as low as 38°F without issue, and they have no trouble surviving the harsh winters in the single digits. I don't suffer from severe icing or auto-immune disease. Issues with concentration, which can be exacerbated by cold weather. I have a feeling - Most electronic equipment, unless it's built with hardened electronics, can't withstand temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit. br>br>I couldn't do NAT on my network, so remote viewing via a phone or tablet was a major concern for me. I'm glad that remote viewing isn't NAT-dependent, and that it can pass through a triple NAT scenario without causing any firewall issues. That's impressive to me, because I needed remote viewing. A stream will use 150-200 gallons of water per minute on average. I've only had one camera fail in the two years I've had the system. br>br>The system runs at 250kbps, so it's not particularly bandwidth intensive. br>br>I've only had one camera fail in the two years I've had it. That failure was entirely my fault; I realized I had a poor and non-compliant work ethic. RJ-45 connector has a weather-tight seal. My biggest issue in the summer is spider webs, which isn't caused by the cameras. br>br>Overall, I'm happy with the system, but here are some of the major flaws I've discovered: br>br>* There is a lack of motion sensitivity. It's a fixed setting that changes depending on the time of day, and it's different at night and during the day. The problem is that light levels fluctuate throughout the year, and if you don't adjust, you risk missing motion events. It would be preferable if the system could be automated by integrating sunrise and sunset times. br>br>* In these conditions, snow (and occasionally rain or chimney smoke) will cause a slew of motion events, making it difficult to locate an incident. For these issues, the masking system is insufficient, and you end up with a lot of motion alerts. Better NVRs solve this by allowing zone monitoring to trigger real-time alerts, which is currently unavailable. This prompted me to disable both email alerts and push notifications, which would have been useful, simply because I receive far too many. br>br>* I like how Reolink has improved their cameras and made them backwards compatible with their NVRs. However, I'm disappointed that the newer 4K cameras are incompatible with the 16 channel NVR, but they are with the 8 channel NVR. That's annoying, but I don't have a need for 4K right now, and even with the basic hardware, this is quite intensive. br>br>* As I mentioned above, alerting capabilities have no granularity or control. They require zone-based alerting rather than just motion alerts. During the majority of the year, I receive so many motion alerts that it causes real-time issues. I'd like to have time monitoring and alerting. Reolink must be able to distinguish between motion and an incident and incorporate this knowledge into their software in some way. br>br>* Support is fine, but none of the suggestions I've made have been implemented. In the two years that I've owned the system, I've opened a ticket with their support team about a few of my major concerns and issues, and while they were responsive, they haven't addressed a single concern with the system. Despite the issues mentioned above, I believe I have a higher level of security and haven't had any major security incidents since installing the system. It's not always necessary to have armed security. I've caught my neighbor's dogs trespassing on several occasions, including once when they got into our garbage and made a mess. It was satisfying to solve that mystery, and I'm grateful for the system that allows me to keep track of what's going on at my home while I'm away.

The image and build quality are excellent
5/5

I'm not sure where to begin, but these cameras have left a lasting impression on me.
Pros: br>Wide FOVbr>Great night visionbr>Good Motion Detection settingsbr>Amazing picture quality during the daybr>Many apps or programs for various platforms with a variety of settings ranging from motion settings to white balance, etc. br>Cons: br>Confusing sensitivity settings; I had to consult an article to figure out my settingsbr>Night vision has a "Casper" effect, in which it washes out a person's face with built-in IR. This is fixed by using LIFX Bulbs. br>Includes no POE injectorsbr>Overall, the setup was simple, and formatting the SD card was simple. I'd suggest getting LIFX Lights as an alternative Infrared Light Source to avoid the "Casper" effect and keep bugs away from the camera and webs from forming in front of the lense. br>I'm not sure if it's just my setup, but the Windows Program periodically disconnects and reconnects with the cameras; however, if you leave the program open unattended, you may have to reopen it. As I previously stated, I believe the problem is with my setup rather than the program itself. br>This is an unpaid and unbiased review; I will update if I encounter any additional problems. 5/29/19.

Cameras are excellent, but software is woefully inadequate, and H265 is not supported
3/5

The software provided by Reolink is completely ineffective. We turned on two cameras, but the Reolink software was unable to locate them on the network. br>As a result, we used a MAC address scanner to locate the cameras and their IP addresses. br>After that, we used the web interface to manually connect to the cameras. br>It appears that H265 is not supported by these cameras. As a result, file sizes will be enormous, and your network may become overburdened quickly. There is a lot of traffic. br>br>The price is reasonable, but the software is ineffective, and modern video codecs such as H265 are unavailable. 2- br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b stars.
