Questions & Answers

There were two of these in my possession. Lost one. Is it possible to provide a key number and receive a pair of locks and keys that are identical to the ones I currently have?

The cores of these locks are removable, in case anyone was wondering. You could buy a new set and bring it to any locksmith with the key you want. They may then disassemble and reassemble your new locks. They should be pinned to your current key.

Where does the lock come from?

Taiwan

What is the exact diameter of the shackle? This vital information is nowhere to be found. 9/32", 3/8", 7/16", 9/32", 9/16", 9/16", 9/16", 9/16", 9/16", 9/16", 9/16", 9/16 ?

The diameter is 7/16", which is just shy of a half-inch. I'm impressed by how tough it is. In my 53' van trailer, I use two to lock the doors.

How well will these withstand prolonged high humidity conditions, such as those found in a hot tub room?

This model was recommended by our local National Guard armory, so I went ahead and bought it. They've had great success with these locks for security purposes. For the past two years, I've had mine outside on the gate 24 hours a day, seven days a week with no issues. All the locks are frozen up during an ice storm, so that isn't a fair criticism. br>The short answer is that I'm not sure how they'd fare in high humidity 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is the lock I'd pick if I had to try one of my many.

For What They Are, Great Locks- And they aren't
5/5

I can pick locks, and I'm in the middle of learning how to do so. in terms of knowledge and ability. Most Masterlocks could probably be picked blindfolded, underwater, with a pick held in my teeth, or with just my feet, LOL. Any standard-style lock, including these, can be picked, but most locks that are impossible to pick except by Uber experts (MT5, etc. ) cost well over $100, and I only needed locks for an indoor storage unit with keypad entry and cameras inside, so a pair of these with the same keying from a reputable company like Schlage for $30 was an excellent value, so I pounced. I picked these in less than a minute and took more than thirty seconds. The tolerances are fairly tight, which makes picking a little more difficult than with garbage products like Masterlock, but it's still a standard straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward straight-forward lock with pins To give you an example, I can pick almost any Masterlock with my non-destructive method. In most cases, the dominant hand is able to complete the task in under five seconds. Although the shackles on these locks were too thick for my indoor storage, I kept them for a few other purposes. Overall, you should be aware that if you want something that will truly prevent professional theft, you should spend two to four times this minimum for a SINGLE lock, but at the lower end of the price spectrum, these are an excellent, excellent value for Romper Room locks that provide basic protection and deterrence. I'm not one of those people who expects $200 lock features in a $15 lock, and these locks were rated based on price and features. br>br>Another thing to keep in mind is that I purchased these for indoor use only, not outdoor use; they are all metal with no rubber or other coating or covering; I'm not sure how this will affect their longevity when exposed to the elements. These locks are extremely hardy. br>br>For my storage unit, I wish Schlage would make a version with thinner shackles, but they don't.

It's been a year and a half and I'm still going strong! These Schlage padlocks were purchased in sets of four
5/5

To lock up my Harley-Davidson, I went with a heavy chain about a year and a half ago. Davidson in front of my Eugene, Oregon apartment. We have a lot of rain, which causes moss to grow on everything. One was buried in the dirt behind some bushes, hidden from view, and the other was shackled to the frame of my motorcycle. Both locks had been subjected to a lot of use and were constantly exposed to the elements. I needed something secure because there are a lot of thieves in the area. To prevent amateur lock picking attempts, these locks have 6 pin tumblers with spools inside, as well as double ball construction to prevent shimming. I've since moved to Arizona, and they're now in use around my travel trailer, where they're exposed to a whole new set of elements, but they still lock and unlock with ease. The price for two is a great deal considering what you get. I'm blown away.

The most effective heavy-duty lock available
5/5

I've had these locks for a year and can confidently state that they're among the best heavy-duty locks available. I've used the locks in my truck toolbox in all kinds of weather, from desert heat to winter snow and salt. The locks have never failed to function and continue to open with the same ease as they did on the first day. The fact that these locks come with a 6-year warranty is the real winner. cylinder with a pin lock That isn't something you'll find on any other commercial lock, not even the so-called high-security ones. Kryptonite locks, also known as heavy duty Master Locks, have a maximum of five pins. The extra pin only adds to the difficulty of picking it. I doubt the average criminal lock raker could ever open this lock unless some professional lock enthusiasts decide to turn to a life of crime. I'd highly recommend these locks because they are well worth the price. The shackle is also extremely thick compared to others, so I have no doubt that cutting the lock without significant effort would be nearly impossible.

This padlock is the best I've ever seen
5/5

To tell you the truth, I'm leaving. I have a minimum of 20 large, heavy-duty vehicles. Duty master locks are used in my shop, on my gates, trailers, and other items; however, because I live in the Midwest, snow and ice can pierce their design, making unfreezing them in the cold an unpleasant experience. I decided to replace a few with these and was blown away by the difference in lock quality, weight, and hardness. Yes, they freeze during an ice storm, but keeping them well oiled keeps them from freezing as much as the master locks, which have a dozen plate ridges that allow water to seep in. br>br>I've now switched a total of ten locks and will be using them going forward; I'm confident that my business and our equipment will be well protected with these locks. Overall, I think this is a good buy that will give you some peace of mind in the current economic climate.

Locks that are both solid and substantial
3/5

(Unfortunately, I'm having to change my rating from 5 to 3 stars. ) These locks made me very happy, and I thought they were of exceptional quality. Until recently, it was safe - One of mine has loosened up inside to the point where it no longer always catches or locks. Granted, for the past few months, my two locks have been opened and closed multiple times per day - They should, however, be able to withstand a lot of wear and tear. I've kept my original review below, but I felt the need to update it to warn others about what happened to me. Now I'm on the lookout for a new keyed-in system. heavy-duty locks that are similar )br>These are substantial, heavy, and well-made. created a lock Picking them, as well as cutting or breaking them open, would be difficult. I appreciate how easy it is to open both locks with a single key. I didn't have to make any copies because the set of two locks came with a total of four keys. I didn't realize the shackles were so thick - This is a good thing because it contributes to the toughness of these locks. The purchase was satisfactory to me.
