Because it had been outside for some time, the shaft had become rusted. These nice little master locks are intended to be used on lockers or small items to lock up inside; they won't withstand any outdoor tough burglar going after them, but they are perfect for lockers at work or the gym (I got the pink one for the gym). It's a great deal at $5 with free shipping.

Master lock, good ol' handy dandy. For my daughter's locker, I bought a blue one several years ago. Her lock was returned to me after she graduated. It has been used to keep an eye on the gate to my backyard, so it has been exposed to the elements. The color has faded a little, but the lock has never let me down. I was considering buying a combination lock, but after reading so many reviews about people having to cut the lock off because it had failed, I decided to stick with what I knew. When it arrives, the pink will go on a deck storage bin. I also bought a black one to go with a new shed I bought. Because they can't make one key fit both locks, I bought two different colors so I wouldn't have to fumble with keys. The blue one, on the other hand, is going to stay on the gate. I am satisfied with my purchase. I plan to purchase from this seller again.

size of the lock I wanted it to be as inexpensive as possible so that I could lock a basement door for termite tenting, which is required by law. As a result, it only saw one day of use. Obviously, I can't comment on the lock's quality, but it did close and open with the key just fine. It's also quite tiny - Did I say anything about that?.

This lock is a disaster; it would be fine as a simple practice lock for lock-picking. Picking, but only for the purpose of picking. Even a novice can pick it open in a matter of seconds, and you can even use the tension wrench.

This lock is insecure, and amateur lockpickers can easily pick it open. I was able to open it in under a minute with no lockpicking experience. I inserted two random lockpicking tools from a cheap kit and proceeded to open it by shaking it haphazardly. It's that simple to open.
