"Traditional" utility keys are used in these. You should be able to get a copy from almost any Lowe's or Home Depot in your area.
It all depends on the type of lockers you have at the gym. These are meant to be used as storage units, but if the locker is large enough, it may work.
Yes, the keys are identical, and we ordered extras. With all of the keys, the lock performs admirably.

Today in the Amazon Locker, I received a brand new, unopened Master Lock 40T package. Master "No40" is written on the front of these Master locks. I could barely turn the key on one of these locks when I took them out of the package and tried to lock/unlock them with their keys (just so you know, I lift weight). You won't be able to unlock them if they become slightly rusted on the inside. Because of how cheap these Master Lock parts were, I noticed right away that the internal mechanical parts were not aligned properly inside. What else can you expect in terms of quality from crappy things that are made in China with an American company logo? made in China (see attached photo showing where these Master Lock 40 were made) with poor workmanship, and you can quickly tell that these Master Locks weren't made to last They've already been returned to Amazon.
For my Stealth trailer, I bought these locks. The lock has a small drain hole at the bottom to let moisture out, but the trailer requires that the locks be turned sideways, as shown in the picture. Water collects inside the lock and freezes because it can't drain in the sideways position, making it impossible to open with the key. Fortunately, there was no damage to the inside of the lock. When I needed to get into the trailer on a sunny winter day, all I needed was a bucket of warm water to thaw the locks out. Given how easily water can get inside a lock, I'm confident that this could happen regardless of lock position when cold.
If anyone is curious, I worked with "PODS. ".
I'd give these three stars if half stars were available. They're just not quite up to 4 star standards. br>br>These were some of the first locks I bought for some of our new rv's security needs. And as time has passed and I've read more, I've realized that for the same money, I could have done better. I went straight to what I knew because I'm not a lock expert. Locks with a master key. As it turns out, the vast majority of master lock products are somewhere between completely useless and painfully average. They do make some decent higher-end locks, but at the end of the day, I wouldn't choose a Master padlock over an Abus for a comparable price. br>br>Having said that, these locks aren't bad. Based on my research, they appear to be suitable for my requirements. Despite the fact that deep cycle led acid batteries are not high on a thief's list, I would have spent my money on Abus locks instead if I had known what I know now. The fact that I'm not out a lot of money makes me feel better. On the other hand, I wouldn't put my faith in them to safeguard lithium-ion batteries. For a reasonable price, you can do a lot better than these. My advice is to do your homework and purchase enough locks to meet your requirements. If I could go back in time, I would have spent a little more money on a better lock. In any case, this is the last set of master locks I'll ever purchase.
My drive-up storage unit was broken into last summer. I needed two new locks, so I bought this pair. Unfortunately, after only three months of use, one of the locks rusted in two places. I'm incredibly disappointed! It appears that I will need to investigate a better lock for use outside.
This is without a doubt the WORST Amazon purchase I've ever made in the last 15 years. After TWO - the lock would no longer open. yes TWO - uses. The return process for the lock was excellent on Amazon, but the real reason to avoid this item is that I will now have to pay a LOCKSMITH to cut the lock off my storage unit. So, if/when this lock breaks down, you could be out even more money just to have it removed from wherever you were using it! The cost of a locksmith is not covered by the warranty. Take note of this.
Purchase these locks at your own risk! When I first turned the key in the lock, the cheap chrome facing peeled back and cut my thumb like a razor blade. I immediately contacted Master Lock, who seemed unconcerned. They said I could send an email to customer service, but I think I'd be better off dealing with Amazon directly. I sent them an email with photos and waited several days for them to respond and explain how they could sell such a defective product, but they did not. When I contacted Amazon, they responded in the same way that Master Lock had predicted. They expressed sincere regret, promptly issued a refund, and promised to contact the seller. When I called Master Lock, I spoke with another representative who seemed unconcerned as well. I only gave it one star because it's what I'm supposed to do. The No. The 40-lock system should be phased out right away.
On the gate that spans my driveway, I use this exact lock. In 16 years, this is my second lock. When the first one became difficult to open, I replaced it with one of these locks from a local store. The lock I'm using right now is still functional, but it's starting to rust, and I can't seem to find any replacements locally. They only have the ones that are partially made of plastic. I can't use plastic because it gets wet from snow or rain and I have to use a blow torch to melt the ice. Putting a plastic freezer bag over it and securing it with a rubber band is a good way to prevent this, but I often forget. In any case, I never gave my old lock a thorough examination. These locks, as far as I can tell, are just as sturdy and well made as the one I have, and I purchased two of them in two separate packages. The locks open and close smoothly and easily with the keys in place. They also have two distinct keys that cannot be swapped. I did it on purpose to see what I'd get because other reviews claim that all of them are keyed the same, but mine aren't.
