Questions & Answers

Is this lock compatible with Pelican 1750 rifle cases?

Without a doubt. as if made for each other! It's easier to remove them if you put them on backwards. Also, if you're going to use these for flying, there's something to keep in mind. NO SUCH THING AS A TSA LOCK EXISTS! I took my case with these locks (empty) to the Detroit Metro a week before my flight, spoke with TSA and Delta, and they both said there is no TSA approved lock because you sit there while they screen and approve it, and then you and only you have the key. I asked what would happen if they needed to check the contents later, and they both said these locks are perfect. They suggest attaching a tag to your luggage with your phone number and flight information so that they can contact you before using the bolt cutters. If you're already on the plane, don't expect the locks to be available, but to answer your question, they won't be. yes.

Is it true that there are only two keys out of four, one for each lock?

At least three keys (possibly four) are included with this set. All I recall is that I had three sets of keys, and I'm not sure if there was a fourth set.

If I have several of these, do I need to keep the keys separate so they don't get mixed up, or can I use the same key for all of them?

It doesn't matter if the keys are kept separate for these locks. They've been locked up. These locks are also good honesty indicators if you use them on a gun case. They can be broken into in a variety of ways. If you're looking to spend $400 or more on a new car, Spend much more on locks that aren't Masterlock than you would on a $500 rifle case. Purchase Paclocks that are keyed alike and meet US manufacturing specifications.

DO THEY MEET TSA REQUIREMENTS?

There is no longer such a thing, at least not when it comes to gun cases. When locking a gun case while traveling, the TSA does not want a set of locks that can be opened by TSA agents along the way. You let them inspect the gun case, then close and lock it in their presence before handing it over to baggage handling at the airport; you don't have to unlock it when you arrive. If you're locking a suitcase that doesn't contain any weapons, you'll probably need a TSA lock, but having a lock that can be easily opened is pointless.

Please, no more negative feedback
5/5

I only use these locks to stay in compliance with California's "transporting firearms" law. I'm not one to be concerned about the ease with which these locks can be broken into. If someone had access to my Pelican Case and wanted the contents inside, they would take the entire case and take their time breaking open the lock, regardless of how many 5 star reviews your lock has or how much more difficult it is to break into than these locks. br>To put it another way, these locks are used to ensure that the firearms laws are followed. In terms of quality, all four work well and open and close smoothly. br>Five out of five stars.

Rusted and seized, the door slammed shut quickly
3/5

These four Master locks are installed on my four circuit breaker/electrical boxes, which are all located on an exterior wall of my house. They are protected from the elements while outside (in Florida). They don't get much (if any) direct rainfall because of the back overhang. Humidity, on the other hand, is a problem. All four locks had rusted shackles that seized shut after only a year. The keys were still usable, and they worked perfectly to unlock the locking mechanism. The shackles, however, had rusted to the point where their shafts entered the lock's body, and the locks could no longer be opened with the keys.

This product should not be used outside
3/5

I bought a four-bedroom house in the suburbs of New York City. About two years ago, I purchased a pack of these locks. I chose a brass lock with the intention of using it for a long time. Because the product listing specifies "for indoor and outdoor use," and because the term corrosion resistance is used in the product description. In this relatively warm environment, it proved to be unsuitable for outdoor use. The shackle inside and outside the lock body of all three padlocks I used outside rusted. In one case, I was unable to re-lock the padlock after it had been opened, while in another, I was able to do so. It would lock and unlock, but when unlocked, it would not open. At the very least, I was able to get them unlocked. br>br>The one lock I used inside was still functional and did not appear to have rusted.

I bought these locks after hearing good things about them and they fit my Pelican 1750 gun case perfectly
5/5

This was the best option because I needed several locks that all had to be opened with the same key. If you look at my photo, you'll notice that the two locks over the carry handle don't affect the functionality of the handle or your ability to adjust the case while it's locked. The price on Amazon is unbeatable, and they arrived the next day at my door. I'm ecstatic about my purchase!.

Keys that have been broken
3/5

The locks came in a sealed, hard plastic container with two keys, just like they said they would. One key had been broken and was missing a piece, while the other had been severely bent and dented. It's clear that the damage occurred prior to the packaging. After this problem is resolved, I'll consider rewriting my review. UPDATE: Master Lock Co. was contacted. , and it is more trouble than it is worth. I took the key that wasn't broken, hammered it flat, and filed it with a small diamond file until it was mostly functional again, and then I took it to be duplicated. Because of the damage, they say it might not work. It worked, and I'm now able to use the locks; however, they're now more expensive. I understand that the world isn't perfect.

Only one of the four attempts was successful
3/5

Amazon, as they almost always do, did exceptionally well. The locks, on the other hand, did not fare as well: One of the four locks was difficult to open a week after the return date (key wouldn't turn) until I tried for six minutes. 8 times. The lock would then "capture" the key after it had been opened. I couldn't get it out of my head - Until I fiddled with it for a while (pulling, pushing, twisting), that is. br>br>I use these locks every day, and they are only used indoors, but I can't trust that one lock anymore, and I'm worried that others will fail as well. Bummer.

Locks
5/5

Easy to use, medium security lock, two toned as shown, no combination to remember, and a great price for four locks and two keys. Despite the fact that we've had a lot of rain, these locks have so far held up and aren't rusting. br>br>These locks fit my gates perfectly and have greatly reduced the amount of bike and foot traffic we have between the houses. When I'm on that side of the house, it's so quiet now. It would be nice if there were three keys included.

The locks are in good condition
5/5

On my property, things have recently started to grow legs and walk away. As a result, I've been taking every precaution I can to protect what I have. I bought one of these locks to secure my riding lawnmower to a post (I may not be able to prevent a theft, but I'll try), as well as one for each of my two shops or sheds. It's great that so many of them came together in one set. They aren't huge, heavy locks, but they are of a reasonable size, and they worked flawlessly and provided exactly what I required. I like that the set all have the same key, which makes it easy to keep track of them; the set comes with two keys that fit all the locks. So I don't have to fumble around for a key on each lock, and my husband and I each have our own key. The locks are easy to operate and engage. None of the four locks have caused me any problems. At the very least, they should deter would-be thieves. Excellent locks at a reasonable price. I would suggest it.
