I needed this spout to clear the ledge in our tiled shower/tub and this spout suits my needs in that respect. In over a decade, mineral deposits built up on the old shorter one, and I was too lazy to replace it until it eventually corroded and began I had to extend the old spout with an iron coupling and a 4 inch cast iron hose with the original spout being a rear mount. It takes a 5 3/8 inch pipe to get the distance between the wall and the ceiling. During the installation of the coupling and pipe, the chrome ring backing that they showed in the advertisement was pressed over the nipple from the wall. Installing the spout and tightening it to the wall caused the fixture to be snug. After applying clear adhesive caulk to the outer and inner edges of the backsplash ring, the ring was completed. In a quick test, the diverter worked and there was no leakage in the plumbing (I appreciate that the bottom of the spout has a drain hole). Taking the caulk out of the jar and letting it cure for 24 hours before using. This is my first task, now I'll see how long it lasts. This spout had been there for over 15 years, which proves how long I've put off this task. Anyhow, I did it and I am happy so far, and the wife thinks it is a lot nicer than the old spout.
I needed this one. A full set came with one that was 5-Inch wide The water would splash on the bathtub overflow near the top because it was only 1/4 of an inch long. Since this one is long enough for me to avoid that problem, and it uses a 1/2-inch threaded pipe nip, it should not cause any problems. It was possible for me to buy a 6-hole golf course I threaded the spout on and put the 1/2 inch nipple on.
They did not install the insides that attack it inside the pipe, so be very suspicious when you order this product. *Update The slip on type was necessary for me. I was at fault. That is not the intended use for this one.
You need extra length if you want to install an air bath such as a whirlpool. The diverter has a little trouble but otherwise the device is well constructed. The project has a tendency to leak and be sloppy. We have high expectations, but we also have limitations It only does so when you are taking a shower. I had to jiggle it to stop it.
I don't like this shower knob at all. The design is poor.
Price was good, but I fear that it is not.
Throughout my career in plumbing, installation of this item has been the easiest I've ever experienced. I would buy it again because it works well.
Purchase it , it fits well, it works well, it looks nice and it comes at a good price.
