It looks like the TA-type A valve when you do a search of Symmons Temtrol type A I am guessing it will work. If you can take apart the unit first then take it apart. If not I would order the part from amazon and don't open it until you have taken it apart. You can always return it and install the old valve until you get the right one, but my research shows that this valve is compatible.
In the Amazon listing for this product, Symmons was listed as the brand and the packaging was Symmons. Based on comments I read, it seems that there is no consensus There is a difference in quality between OEM and aftermarket versions. Seals were present on the spindle before it was machined We've installed it.
Among the gasket rings that came with the item was a seal ring

There was a leak in the showerhead and this included a simple fix for the issue. Combined with his, he made the shower like new and fixed the leak quickly. Symmons temp control has many parts, so it took him a bit to fix the leak. It is a product I would purchase again if needed. Hopefully I will not have to.
Thanks for using TA- After installing In 10 I found that the shower water wasn't getting hot enough (the water from the sink beside the shower has good and hot water, as does the rest of the water supply in my place, so I know it's not the system). It has enough heat when swapped with the one from my other shower. After calling a plumber because I thought I might be missing something, he also concluded there is a problem with this part even though it appears to be working. Can you please tell me how I can make sure it is replaced. Thanks, Ed

It was too cold in the shower and I failed to receive much hot water, so I ordered a main flow valve for my shower control. For most of a year, I stuffed up with it, but I finally snapped. As long as you watch the video on installing the valve it should be pretty easy and after connecting the valve you should be able to get a warm shower again once you have hot and cold water mixed. I am very happy with the results.
I found this TA 10 spindle to be perfect. Rather than paying $300 to the plumber, I saved $300. It's not too difficult to remove the cartridge if you are not a plumber. Instructions on how to do it would be a big help, however. (Ensure the faucet shaft is in the open position) I was afraid that the part ordered was the wrong one, but it arrived the next day and fitted With this new feature, I can now run hot and cold water in my custom soaking tub. It's nice to do things yourself.
The Symmons Test of Analysis Temp-Lite 10 spindle replacement was an exact match for the one in our upstairs tub/shower Valve for controlling flow. As well as replacing this part, I also replaced the hot and cold seats. The spindle was a little pricey, but at least it is an OEM part from Symmons, and it works just fine. As with the old one, which lasted for about 12 years, we hope the new one will last as long as well. The product has been used almost daily for years.
It was easy to install, and the quality was superb The new part replaces a 33-year old original part that was in daily use for 33 years.
A genuine SYMMONS OEM part. The stems are durable, unlike aftermarket stems that last for a few months. The price you pay is very much what you get in return.
It seems that I need to replace these spindles every few years due to the quality of my water. Changing them out is a simple process, and they work very well.
