Questions & Answers

How does this diverter slide run on the bushing, so that it does not bind on hard water scales?

A pull down version I have uses water pressure to engage the seal to create a seal, and mine has lasted fifteen years and counting In order to perform this pull up version, you must have a strong core To counter the water pressure, put on a ring. A robbery occurs when a third party is involved As the ring flattens out with age, leaks begin to occur.

What kind of allen key will I need to install this?

So that you can reach the hex nut easier, you can slide the ring on sideways. Until you make contact with the pipe, tighten the hex nut, then loosen the hex nut a little, and then while the allen wrench is still in place, turn, tighten, and you are done.

To be able to run a pipe out of the wall, does it have to be in place for a certain amount of time?

As shown on the instructions attached to the spout, the tube length from the finished wall should be between 1.5" and 2 7/8".

What is the minimum length that a copper stub should be (exposed to ?

The copper wire is barely long enough to fit on a 2" length. The one I took was 2 My water pressure was high enough that it shot off the connector if the set screw was too tight. I would recommend tightening the set screw down to the point that it actually crushes the pipe a little so that it does not fly off.

This is a great replacement with some great tips
4/5

She just moved into a new apartment and noticed that her bathtub diverter leaks water when she tries to switch to the shower head when pulling the diverter. The tub spout in her apartment is Sip-style, so I went there to confirm that it was that way She currently has a diverter spout, so I ordered this after determining the length of the current one. It is easy to replace slippers by anyone With very little experience, I am working on diverter tub spout. It just takes a few simple steps to get started. I. A. 1. If it's a slipper, make sure it's not a shoe The spout is on. Ensure that it is true by looking for a screw or hex nut on the bottom of the faucet. 1. I. 2. Ensure the tile wall is a safe distance from the end of the water To prevent water damage, you want the same size because you don't want to have any gaps between the spout end and the wall. It was fairly easy to replace the spout, and I have verified that the diverter works
But there was a small gap between the spout and the tile. I have seen some tub spouts that come with a ring that can be added to the back of the spout to allow it to be adjusted in The one I have now would be ideal if it had that as well. Now all I have to do is caulk around the area to ensure no water leaks in. This diverter tub spout is certainly worth the price, especially given its feature set. Just make sure to keep a slip resistant mat next to it until you remove it. Make sure you do your homework on the model before buying it. This should be helpful to you, I hope. Please click on the helpful button below if it was. Please accept my sincere thanks!.

When you decide that this is the thing you need, it's a simple fix
4/5

In order to determine what options I had when my diverter valve on my shower/tub suddenly failed, I investigated several One of the solutions was to call a plumber A good one is on the way. Knowing from experience that a visit would be expensive, I was reluctant to attempt it. I think he's had his time. As well as the list price for the part plus a markup, it seems. After Googling the problem (ineffective at first, since I had not heard of "diverter valve") I found that this is an easy fix - just open the valve and take a few steps in the direction of the arrow. The faucet should be replaced completely, especially if the whole thing is just changed. So, the first step was to find out exactly what kind of attachment my mine utilized. Using my cell phone camera for selfies, I took a picture of myself As you hold it under the faucet, see if it seems to be looking up at you. With the lock screw in sight, that problem has been fixed. I measured the length of the 1/2" pipe by taking the old one off and then removing it. My son has been wearing this for two and a half years and he loved it. After that, I went to Amazon and found this very close replacement for not too much cash. I like that! We ordered it, and had it in hand within two days. Installation was a snap. To ensure that the seal would be good, the oldest pipe had to be cleaned up. Wire brush followed by a good wipe down was what I used for that. As soon as that was done, the new one went in It took about two minutes to complete the I love it! What a world we would live in if all problems were that simple to solve. As far as I am concerned, this faucet has to be reserved for things other than a bathtub faucet. ) Then again, I'll just say this I think so. I don't have any complaints.

Easily installs a tub spout at a reasonable price
5/5

On time delivery was provided, it was packaged properly, and the tub spout was in good condition. When it comes to this tub spout, it is a slip-on type - it simply slips on the tub - An allen wrench or small screwdriver can be used to remove the allen screw and tighten the screw. The stub was as long as two inches and three quarters The wall has a sticking out. If the diverter is pulled, water is diverted properly from the tub spout to the shower head with NO water dripping from the tub. Given the amount of water we've been wasting with the tub spout that was recently replaced, this is pretty incredible. I think this is an excellent value and that it works as expected.

With a screwdriver and two brain cells, the man tries to break his way out of the room This would be easy enough for my cat to install
5/5

This screwdriver is relatively affordable and very simplest to install if you are familiar with working with screws. As an independent middle-aged woman living by herself, I am on my own The parts I ordered, the old ones I got off and the new ones I put on came back in stock. There is no need for a graduate degree for these jobs It doesn't matter what degree you have. My builder provided incredible quality construction materials when he constructed my house less than 7 years ago, so I was pleased to stop the torrential downpour of water from the faucet vs. the trickle from the showerhead in both bathrooms.

It drips a little bit after installation, but not too bad
4/5

The internal construction of this tub spout appears to be identical to the danco universal tub spout, however, it seems AS glued the plastic ring to the internal nipple to eliminate the need to deal with the ring while mounting. A description of the O There is a ring inside that appears to have been inserted beforehand The silicone grease was used to lubricate the machine. The unit slides on easily, and you just have to tighten the set screw with a 4mm allen key. It does not come with installation instructions. There is a sticker across the hole where the copper pipe enters that reminds you to deburr the copper pipe before it is installed to avoid damaging the O-ring. Stack the rings. It appears from the sticker that the tube protruding from the wall should occupy a distance of between 1 and 1. 5" Approximately 1/2 to 2 of a loaf Seventeen and eighteen eighths of an If the shower is switched to a rain mode, the drips still occur every once or twice a second. However, I find it better than the constant stream of water flowing from the danco.

Ideally, drips should be as minimal as possible
4/5

Ideally, drips should be minimal or nonexistent. This water pump is a significant improvement over my old one, which looked like it was spraying water out of half. It was surprising to see how good the chrome finish was. Although it would have been nice if it came with an Allen tool, it was a great value overall. I would recommend this.

There's no point in going to Lowe's or Home Depot
5/5

Despite the fact that I'm not much of a handyman, I could never imagine paying a plumber $200 to replace the In order to buy the bathtub spout, I first went to Home Depot to buy a low-priced brand. Furthermore, not only were the directions inadequate, but even online videos demonstrated how difficult it was to install this no-name product Returning the item and buying an unfamiliar brand at the top of the price scale at Lowe's, I went to another store. As with the former, it was necessary to take several steps to ensure the In the time it took me to return that, I ordered this American Standard tub spout from Amazon. Change of a light bulb was more complicated than installation. It has been a month since that leak has occurred, and the diverter is working Whenever you pay for something, you get what you pay for. Make sure you only buy brand names.

It has a very good As you can see, this spout is perfectly adequate
5/5

To install it, you will need less than two minutes. A 2-inch tube should be about two feet long when it comes out of the dry wall I suggest you use a 7/8, which will work The screws can be installed if you know how to get a screwdriver out. It is not necessary to be handy and knowledgeable to do so. Although there is a very minor drip in the shower, I think it's quite acceptable for a system that uses water. I have included the specification below for those wanting to know what the proper tube length should be.
