Questions & Answers

There is a Delta Monitor faucet in my kitchen. A new RP19804 cartridge was installed in place of the Delta cartridge. What are the chances of this working? It does not fit the RP17443 that I purchased. ?

RP 17443 didn't work, the H79 will, so it is not an issue. There are only two different types. In our 600 series, the RP17443 is used on the faucet, and in the 13/14 series, the H79 is used. It is the way they connect to the stem assembly or cartridge that makes the major difference between the two handles.

Do you still not receive a screw with this product?

From Amazon, we have the H79 handle. The handle was equipped with a set screw already installed in it (by the vendor). The fact that it is not packaged in a separate parts bag makes it seem missing. A 1/8" (3mm) Allen wrench is required to tighten or loosen the set screw on this model.

What is the shape of the opening on this handle. Do we have an oblong stem (shaped like an eye)?

The set screw bites into one side of the round screw, which has a flattened edge. You should not compensate for the flat surface making you see the shape incorrectly, just make sure it's not oblong.

Have you heard of this for RP70538? I had to change Delta cartridge and was wondering if this would work with it. ?

Hello and welcome! You are welcome. Thank you for your inquiry. We offer the Delta H79 Handle Assembly for our 13/14 series Delta Monitors. There is no fit for the Delta RP70538 Valve Cartridge Assembly with this handle. For the handle assembly, we suggest the RP74148. I send my best regards to you, Rosanna

It does NOT fit a Delta model 642 (the one with the crystal ball)
5/5

This does not work on the hideous 642 delta model when using You will not get results with a broach or stem with a diamond shape. I had to return home. These models are no longer available but there's a converter ball available, but it won't fit this one.

We had a great fix in our shower for the 1400 series
5/5

We had a great fix in our shower for the 1400 series. A leak was coming from our shower and calcium buildup was caked on the Allen screw, so my husband stripped out the corrosion and drilled out the screw. We needed a new handle for the shower. The shower faucet in our bathroom was purchased from 2007-2008 This program went into effect in 2008, if that helps anyone decide whether or not it's right for them.

We have a time bomb in the Delta! I hope that person is cleaning toilets in Siberia, because the original design was so poor
4/5

Delta's replacement screw has been modified to ensure that water will work its way out by way of the boss area (except the screw head). I drilled a hole at the top of the screw and screwed the top screw into it In the - Despite the way handle bump remaining, I am not sure what it means. A spare screw was built in and one came in the bag with mine, but I need two. A hex key with a 5mm diameter. Following installation, I lubricated the screws' threads and put candle wax on top of the socket head as a preventative measure. In the end, I managed to save the cartridge despite the GIANT pain taken getting the frozen original out. Please send me a photo when you have one This is the Time Bomb.

It works as it should, but it is harder to install than it should be
3/5

As an added bonus, the H79 handle came without hex keys or instructions for the installation. The handle fits neatly on the stem of the cartridge, but it was surprisingly difficult to get the set screw tight. Within the box there were instructions on how to install about a dozen different handles, but there were none for the H79. Based on the fact that many of the handles indicated the size of the set screw as being 3/32", I could only assume the H79 used the same size set screw. The size of 3/32" would not allow for this. In addition, the next size up (7/64") also proved to be I would have preferred the size up from that (1/8") but it I receive most of the bits I need to install items like this that require a strange size or shape bit as part of the package. In order to do that, I had to use my You screw the set screw in with a Phillips head screwdriver. Despite my best efforts, I didn't manage to adjust it as tightly as I should have.

It is annoying that there are no set screws
3/5

Exactly like the original Delta handle, the new handle is made of ABS plastic. It arrived in a small cardboard box that was intact. Unfortunately, the handle was inside a plastic bag that had a hole in it and inside of that plastic bag was the handle. It was missing the set screw that held the handle in place. When you use a heavy handle, does it really make sense to risk goinguge your toes or smashing the shower floor tiles every The answer is obviously no one! As a result, the rating is one star. We had to drive ten miles to the local hardware store and sort and try the set screws for around thirty minutes. Not only were there different sizes, but there were coarse and fine threads as well. There is always a mixed stock of equipment and parts at hardware stores whenever they are open It is common for people to dump their unwanted items into the nearest garbage can. In order to ensure that all items fit, each item must be tried on. However, I secured the necessary set screw and the handle fitted well. The extra work was not appreciated in the slightest, since any time you deal with plumbing issues, it's enough to aggravate you.

The handle will never need to be changed again if you use this
5/5

Plastic nonsense has been replaced by this great product. As is typical with many products, I will address the most common complaint about this one, that the set screw faces up and will corrode by the time you have to replace the valve, so you must cut off the handle to do so. It has been two years since I've used the plastic handles on this faucet, and they've been terrible. In spite of this, I ordered the thing because I knew I could deal with the corrosion problem. My solution was to mount it upside down, so the handle and set screw would be on the bottom. It is possible to insert some silicone or plumbers putty into the hole for the set screw as well. That was the solution to the problem. The metal handle should last me for a long time, since it won't wear out over time. I shouldn't have to replace it ever again when it becomes loose.

It's Delta's fault that the original design was flawed
5/5

It's Delta's fault that the original design was flawed. It is common to read the following in reviews In order to get the old handle off, the set screw gets corrosion on it and as a result you have to drill out the screw or hackjaw Even with the update that includes a drain for water, I still would not trust the new model. Do yourself a favor and get some anti-doping Use silicone grease or anti-seize (small packets are available at auto parts stores) and apply it before you install the set screw. You don't need to be too conservative with how much you use, as more will not harm you. We have no need to deal with stuck set screws anymore.

My replacement Delta Monitor 1400 series is exactly the same as the original
5/5

It has been reported that after a few years of use, the original handle cannot be removed due to the set screw seizing. The set screw had to be drilled from the backside using a 1/8" bit and a 7/32" bit. My original handle was damaged, so I ordered a replacement. I didn't think I'd be able to avoid damaging the threads in this handle, so I ordered this. In the replacement handle kit, there was a set screw already inserted in the handle and another one contained in the bag inside. It is also a good idea to coat the set screw with an anti-rust coating Eliminate the seizing problem by using anti-seize compound prior to installation. I am pleased with the quality of the replacement handle, as well as It is recommended that you purchase this.
