Questions & Answers

What kind of wheels does it have? Does it have wheels or is it just a handle?

The unit doesn't come with wheels, but you can put it on a base so it can be moved. I have mine connected to Shop Fox's mobile base and it works fine.

Is this shaper compatible with 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch and 1 inch router bits?

It is true that I use them on a daily basis. With the machine, the 1/4 inch adaptor fits inside the spindle housing, and the 1/2 inch adaptor fits into the mounting flange. In addition to 1/2,3/4, and 1" shaper spindles, it comes with a dual-leg clamping system. This shaper has been used a lot without any issues. It is a good machine for the price.

Oak and other hardwoods are dealt with by this machine? If you are going to do raised panel doors, do you need to make multiple passes with the cutters? Thanks a lot. ?

There is some raised panel bi-partitioning I made It has been a year since we used it to fold closet doors. During my building process, I used ash and oak. On the style and rail panels as well as the door panels, I went over them several times. One pass was made to "test" something out, and the machine functioned just fine. The biggest issue, however, is the dust and chips that were created. Those were the main reasons why a multiple pass was necessary. You'll also be able to get a smoother finish and no tear out with multiple passes. I hope you enjoy the machine. The purchase has not caused me any regrets. The interface is very strong and easy to use. Be sure to use safety glasses, ear protection, and tie downs and feather boards.

What if I have a 30 amp outlet and would like to replace it with a 20 amp one?

Would the circuit breaker have to be stepped down to 20 amps if the receptacle is for a 30 amp service? So, one could use a 30 amp plug, but the circuit breaker would have to be stepped down. If you need help with that, I suggest you contact a licensed electrician. do not recommend using the shaper on a service that runs at 30 amps since the tool would not comply with the safety regulations.

I just ran a bunch of chair legs through this machine and was completely blown away by it
5/5

A single tear was not seen, and grain orientation was not a determining factor. With this machine, I am in love!.

My Grizzly G1026 3HP Shaper is in perfect working order
5/5

It is a good machine for its cost and good value. I own a total of four Grizzly machines. As they have grown, their machines have become more and more efficient. Putting together the shaper was easy and quick. To make it mobile, I bought the dust port, the router spindle, and a mobile base. As well, I had to remove all the oil / wax from the table and all surfaces that weren't painted. I prefer to spend a half hour cleaning off that stuff than hours cleaning off rust. The machine was packaged well, and the directions for assembly were clear, but the 20amp plug included on the end of the cord was not my preference. I installed a twist plug instead. A very small amount of runout is present on the spindle. The amount I had was I also made saw dust with it to see how it worked. It was a value of 0002 TIR ( total indicator reading). Is more effective than I had There is only one thing left to do connect it to the dust collector permanently. It is a product I would recommend to anyone looking for either a Delta, Jet, or Powermatic machine. The price of the product is lower than the brands mentioned above, but don't be fooled. The table is the same size as the others, and the processor has the same power. As long as it lasts, I hope that I and my skills won't have to worry about maintenance.

Almost a week since I received my shaper and I am very pleased so far! Prices are too good to be true
4/5

The only disadvantage (so far) is the amount of grease and oil to clean up. plenty of rags and some kind of degreaser at the A grease/wax is applied to the bare metal before it is packaged and they put various kinds of oils in it. In the bright side, I didn't notice any rust, which is exactly what I was hoping for. This shaper gave me a lot more than I expected. A nice fence, good fit and finish, and a solid running motor make this a great machine. Although the fence lacks dust collectors, there are holes for the purpose. To attach one to the rear, it is necessary to fabricate another one. Although I am skeptical, I am still prepared to give it a try. It doesn't matter whether the rear dust collection is on or off, chips can find their way out of the cutter area, and the cutter area has many openings where chips can fly to the rear. I feel it is a good machine all in all.

You can find Wright Cabinets here
4/5

I find this machine to be helpful In our shop, we have 2 of them. They work well together when it comes to production rails and stiles for doors, windows, it's a very good buy in terms of what it offers for the dollar and I'd rather buy three of these than one of the three combo machines made by Grizzly. The Powermatic is an excellent alternative to the Delta and is not nearly as expensive.

It needed some work, but it was still good
4/5

However, you'll realize that the fence on this shaper is slightly off when assembling it. Although it's a good overall value, the fence was slightly out of line during assembly. According to the manual, the fence boards should be shimming, but don't do it. Rather, take a closer look at the screw holes in the housing cover at the point where it attaches to the tabletop. There were two holes, one of which was clearly not where the other It took me a while to enlarge the hole enough so that the fences lined The rest of the time, there weren't any issues. Comes with a cast iron hand wheel instead of the plastic one shown in the pictures.
