Selected User Reviews For BOSCH Tools Track Saw - GKT13-225L 6-1/2 In. Precison Saw with Plunge Action & Carrying Case

I've never seen a track I liked as much as this one! When I used the plywood blade that comes with it, it ripped 1" red oak boards (which are a bit shorter than the board
5/5

I can easily handle 25 inches thick) without trying hard. I never had a slowdown or an overheating problem with it. Overheating caused my Festool TS55's to stop working when I was doing rips since the temperature would get too high. I believe that this is one of the best track saws I have It is pretty much impossible to compare this system to Festool at all. My opinion is that it is far from being a tie. Consider purchasing the entire system if you have the money. It costs about $900. This is a decision you won't regret. The original version of my review can be found I agree - In this review, I'm simply sharing my first impressions. Just yesterday, I got the saw and have yet to cut anything with it. While it may seem strange for me to review something I haven't used, I have enough experince to give my own initial opinions after spending an hour reviewing the saw, tracks, clamps, and It's not the first time I own a Festool, since I have owned two different TS55's and a It was hard finding a Makita I liked because Festool is an excellent offering and Makita is not. As a saw, this is simply not a great saw, and I'm not sure how and why it gets such great reviews. In three years I have owned three Makita saws, and they all had the same problems. The last one I owned was the worst because it appeared the saw blade was not perfectly aligned with the track, which caused significant stress when cutting and allowed the wood to easily burn. The spring also had to be installed correctly on all the Makita's I owned because the manufacturer did not do so correctly. A fundamental problem with the Makita is that its spring system is extremely cheap Those other saws are not the focus of this review. During the past 7 years, I have used track saws to give some background on what I have learned. It has been my desire to try the Bosch TS for years, but I could never find a supplier in the USA. The thought of purchasing one from the UK via eBay crossed my mind a couple years ago but I chose not to. Despite my high expectations, the Bosch has exceeded them all so far. As a matter of fact, it is easier and faster to connect than Festool or Makita (both of which In addition to being stronger and not causing the track to dent if over tightened, it's also much faster than conventional chains. My favorite thing about the clamps is their strength. As well as the rubber on the bottom of the tracks seem to grip better. There is a noticeable improvement in the quality of the track's edge material. It should be more efficient to rip lumber with these tracks as they aren't as wide, which is what I intend to use it for. All of the saws lack both metric and imperial measurements except the one you have. There is nothing like the look and feel of the Makita or Festool saw deck, and this one looks and feels much more quality. There is a vast improvement in the dust collection system of the saw compared to There was a loose dust port on each of those six and it never stayed in place. There was very little friction on all three Festools I always owned the Makits had some friction, but they were still pretty easy to maneuver. The fact that a TS doesn't work with a vacuum you know isn't much of a deal, but if you have used it with one you know it's Once the port is seated where one wants it to, it does not move very easily once you've positioned it in the appropriate place. Once it is in place, the device locks in place due to the steps and the notches. My experience thus far with this TS system has been very positive. In addition, I appreciate that the tracks come with a carrying bag so they can be stored. Besides the compartment on the right side, there is an additional pouch on the left side for the connector and clamps. I noticed that the only thing different between the Festool and Makita saw is that it has more friction when sliding on the track as well. There isn't a silky smooth feel to it, but it doesn't feel all that bad either. In spite of the saw being slightly loose on the rail, there is still a bit more friction than with a Festool or With a little Teflon spray, I am confident this problem can be easily solved. The phrase P. S. There were some damages to the container for my saw. My only concern was the saw and the container, both of which are fine. I thought of sending them back, but since the saw and the container were fine, I decided to keep them. Shipping is likely to be responsible for this damage. It is possible that I will upload photos Considering the terrible shipping practices of Amazon, I'm not going to rate the saw. The packing of Amazon goods has done nothing but disappoint me since I have been using them since 2006.

Cuts are impressive, and the saw is nice
5/5

As part of my work, I cut down sheet goods and build table tops. At that point, we needed a way to accurately trim the table tops. I examined the brands F and M. I am a Bosch fan, so I was excited to find out that the accessories from the M brand were compatible I think the saw's build quality is one of the best in its class, and it makes cuts that are glue-ready. In my opinion, the Bosch saw is a great value and has only a few missing design features compared to the M brand, and I don't consider the missing features to be a major problem. It is marginally better in terms of dust collection with the Bosch brand. I prefer the blade change with the M brand better. Among the major advantages of the Bosch and M brands is their track system, which features some of the strongest connections on the It's not cheap to buy accessories, but again you get what you pay for. You only do it once and forget it. In the end, I chose not to purchase the F brand due to the track system and the battery power. A number of the features that are missing on the Bosch saw would have made me opt to purchase the M brand if it was available through Amazon. This is particularly true of the blade change and dust extraction. All in all, I am more than satisfied with the Bosch saw and would buy it again if I needed another one in the future.

The saw was amazing and the deal was awesome
5/5

The track saw you are considering purchasing is a good purchase, so don't waste time and get it now! The machine is easy to set up, very powerful for its size, highly accurate, does a great job removing dust and is of Extra blades and clamps for holding down the track may be added to the sustainer box (I recommend this). During my first weeks on the job I have cut 100's of feet of plywood for built-in cabinets and storage units. I have also ripped softwoods and hardwoods with high degree of There are six cross-track extrusions, all manufactured by Mafel, and they perform very well, especially the track connection methods, which are quick, rock-solid, Several people have complained about an uneven foundation, but there is no issue there, it's flat as a pancake! After you adjust the guide cams, it is very solid once it is on the track. Every now and then, I apply a little paste wax to the bottom of the base plate and the track and it's as I could not resist the special pricing Amazon was offering at the time I made my purchase. Festool's track system lets you take advantage of the entire catalog of accessories that come with this saw.
