Questions & Answers

Many of these drivers, I understand, are filthy, appear to have been used, and have been improperly stored. Have you encountered any issues with performance or reliability?

I placed an order for one, but it has yet to arrive. I called and received a refund, and a replacement was delivered a few days later. It appeared to be open, but I couldn't confirm this. I removed the driver, which was filthy, resulting in grit on my hands and scratches on the surface. The battery, case, and charger all appeared to be in good working order, so I contacted Amazon, and they handled the replacement for me. They're fantastic. I've always been a big buyer, and I've been doing so since 2008. Anyway, I just received this new one today, and it appears to have never been used. The driver is dirty/gritty, has surface scratches, and has debris stuck in the chuck piece and bottom groves. AMAZING! On the last one, I told the cust rep that I could keep it, but they said that if it appeared to be used, they would replace it. It's now the factory, but only for the driver, I believe. Isn't it possible that the most recent one was brand new? Big sigh!

Is it true that the RPM speed is controlled by the trigger?

Yes, you can play around with the trigger, slowing it down to almost nothing or speeding it up with a full trigger pull. In my opinion, this is a nice little gun. It's unlikely to loosen your lug nuts, but it will completely disassemble the rest of your car's body panels and hands. This is fantastic for r I work for any job that requires a 3/8 drive hand rqchet.

Is this vehicle capable of going backwards? Please, if anyone can assist, I'd appreciate it. ?

Of course, power is limited in the opposite direction.

Is there a way to find out how long it is in total, including the battery?

It's 9 if you have a battery. 1/2" across the top and bottom, and 5" across the front and back.

Is it necessary to send out used tools, or are they being stored incorrectly? Today, I received the product - During storage, it appears to have been used or tampered with
3/5

It's filthy, and there's no packaging or protection on the tool itself. The box was a little battered, but that was most likely due to shipping. br>br>I really don't want to go through the trouble of returning the item, but I'm really annoyed right now. There's no mention of these being reconditioned or used. Be careful what you buy. It's possible that the review will be updated once it's been put through its paces.

Drilling was carried out, and the box was reassembled
3/5

taped. The 135$ drill with prime arrived after a ten-day wait; the delivery box was fine, but the product box inside had been re-packaged. The box had been taped, and the drill had been used inside. This was a pre-owned item that was sold at full retail price. Based on the reviews, it appears that you have a 50/50 chance of receiving a used drill. You might be able to get this one because it's on its way back. This is something that can be avoided and should not occur.

Impact driver of exceptional quality
5/5

To begin, I'd like to state that I received exactly what I paid for; everything was well packaged and functions as expected. One thing that surprised me was that everything, except the impact drill itself, was packed in a clear bag and taped. This isn't a big deal, just something to think about. I suppose from tumbling and scratching around the box, there was some residue on the drill, but no scratches or damage. I can see how some people mistook themselves for drillers. br>br>I used to have a Makita drill, and the reason I got one again is because the tools are great and of excellent quality, and the performance is excellent for my needs. But I can swap the batteries because I have one 18V battery left over from my previous drill. I can now switch the batteries around because they are all 3A. So now I have two batteries, and if one runs out, the other is ready to go. br>While we're on the subject of batteries, I like that there's a sensor built into the battery that allows you to see how full or empty it is. br>While this charger appears to be identical to the one I previously owned, it lacks the cooling fan that activates when the battery is connected to the charger. This charger is silent, and no sound or noise is produced while the battery is being charged. br>The charger, like the other one, is excellent; it took about 25 minutes to fully charge an almost-empty battery. If you're asking me, that's great. br>While I'd prefer it if the drill came with the plastic tool box like the one I got before, it does come in the bag shown, which isn't a big deal. Although a plastic box would be preferable, this bag is quite nice; it fits the drill as well as the charger when the battery is connected. There is still room for other items such as drill bits and so on. br>Comes with a belt clip, too. Overall, this impact driver is fantastic and will perform admirably.

Awesome
5/5

Perfectly powered; any more power and you'd be breaking adapters left and right; just make sure you get impact adapters; regular adapters won't be able to handle the torque. So far, my favorite adapters are the Bosch ones, but the Makita Impactx adapters hold up just as well; I just prefer the Bosch's look and feel. If you're curious about the torque, it'll take off lugnuts torqued to 80 ft lbs, or about 1,000 inlbs, but that's about as high as you'll want to go because the adapters act like torque sticks, bouncing when the torque is too high, which is a good thing, but don't expect to be using the full torque of this tool simply because the adapters limit you. I'm glad I went makita because it feels and works so well.

I'm not a fan of the variable speed - Controlling it is difficult
3/5

This drill is hard to control because it bounces around too much. Despite being a variable-speed unit, I found it difficult to control. br>It was returned, and I replaced it with a three-speed impact drill: Makita XDT14R 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill Makita XDT14R 18V LXT Cordless Drill Mak Brushless Cordless Ion Compact Ion Compact Brushless Cordless Ion Compact Brushless Cordless Ion Compact Brush 3-D Shift Mode Kit for a High-Intensity Impact Driver (2. ) 0Ah). br>I believe that having more control over speed will help me achieve better results. br>br>It also comes with a flimsy bag. There's not much protection, and it barely closes with the battery charger (and the tool battery).

I paid for a new tool and received one that appears to have been used
3/5

The packaging for the product was a little battered. When I opened it, I noticed that the impact driver was the only item that wasn't in a bag. It seemed strange, and upon closer inspection, it appeared to be a used/returned product, with the charger appearing to be re-used. Even though it was "sealed" in a small plastic bag, it was still dirty and had to be bagged and taped shut. I don't mind buying used or returned tools, but if I paid for something new, I expect it to be new.

I switched from an old, corded Ryobi that I bought when I first started woodworking years ago to this, which is nice and compact
5/5

I still liked the Ryobi, but as I moved between different types of wood and projects, I wanted to try brushless. It goes without saying that the upgrade was very noticeable. br>br>While I can't speak to the drill's more technical specifications or why anyone should choose it over other brands (I chose it because I already own a few cordless Makita tools and don't want to buy new batteries), it's performed admirably for me on everything from woodworking projects to home improvements. It's powerful enough to go from pine to walnut, and the brushless function and light have made my life so much easier, from simply seeing what I'm doing to not stripping screws or splitting wood. Because the drill is so small, I can use it in places where my old Ryobi couldn't. If you're already a member of the cordless Makita family, I'd suggest picking one up.

This little tool has made my life a lot easier
5/5

Definitely superior to the other "Big Name" tools. As usual, this is a high-quality tool at a reasonable price; I am the type of person who conducts extensive research before purchasing anything, and this is the tool that I kept returning to. DeWalt, Milwakee, Rigid, and Ryobi are all owned by the same parent company, which is no longer concerned with quality. Makita's tools, on the other hand, feel more durable and built to last.
