Questions & Answers

What is the torque of the 2853-? Do you have 20 screws to remove?

The M18 Fuel Impact Driver model 2853-A is available for purchase. 20 & According to the manufacturer, it has 2,000 lb-ft of torque! I'm not sure why Amazon lists 1800 as the price, but this is incorrect. Also, I'm not sure why it's being said that this removed the lug nuts, because it's a 1/4 impact driver, not a 1/2 impact wrench! A Milwaukee impact wrench is designed to handle 2000 inch lbs (roughly 165 ft lbs) of torque.

Does this tool come with a protective cover?

They produce a case for this tool in addition to a protective cover: CASE 2853-MILWAUKEE

What is the difference between the fuel impact driver and the one that is less expensive?

Brushless motors are found in all Milwaukee tools marked "fuel." As a result, the battery life, motor life, and torque will all be improved. I buy only "fuel" tools for my work as a professional and a homeowner. Standard motors will suffice for the majority of homeowners.

What makes this different from 2850- The only thing I can think of is fuel labeling, since both are brushless but have vastly different prices. ?

The 2850's trigger feathering is also extremely poor. Will not have an effect unless the full trigger is used, which can be a pain.

Selected User Reviews For Impact Driver,Pistol Grip,18VDC

Is it a flaw in the design or a problem with the tool? I've only tried driving drywall screws into drywall and wood with this
3/5

That simple task becomes a dreadful chore with this tool. To take effect, the impacts necessitate far too much resistance. To keep the bit from jumping out of the screw head, you must press down hard on the tool. Isn't the whole point of an impact driver to keep this from happening? My grandfather's 19th-century craftman 2 drove those screws with complete control over the trigger, and the impacts were evenly distributed throughout the screw. With all these positive reviews, I assumed this would be the be-all and end-all of power tools. I haven't used it for nuts, bolts, sockets, or anything else, but it appears that's what it's designed for. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd love to hear them. Yes, I'm a Milwaukee fan, and this isn't meant to be a slam on the city.

Fake or refurbished in a poor manner
3/5

This impact gun was supposed to be a "new" Milwaukee impact gun with "authentic" markings. When I operated the gun in a tilted/downward position, "driving a screw position," 2 days after the 30 day return window had expired, I noticed a bad vibration. I noticed what appeared to be factory lubricant leaking from the quick change chuck area after a closer look. I have two other Milwaukee impact guns that I bought new from Home Depot and are still in good working order after two years of use. This item is either a cheap clone with an authentic Milwaukee gun case, or it has been badly refurbished. I'm extremely dissatisfied; I squandered $110, and I suppose you get what you pay for!.

The most useful tool in my arsenal
5/5

Now that it's 2018, the focus is on impact drivers. I'm not sure why drill drivers are still so popular. With an accessory adapter, you can easily convert the impact's head to a drill driver's head. This drill is small, powerful, and dependable, and it will show up for any job you have. It's so handy that I'm always surprised when it doesn't appear while I'm doing something else. even if all I'm doing is mowing the lawn This is a necessary tool. I like how you don't have to press down on the collar to insert new hex bits like you did on the 6th gens.

There is a known problem with the Gen 3 version
3/5

Milwaukee makes great tools, but their Impact driver (2853-1) is a disaster. 20). br>br>There is a known issue with the Collet ball bearing and Spring failing after extended use, causing the bit to fall out and not be re-inserted. engage. The issue has been resolved in newer versions, but the model number has remained unchanged, and everything appears to be the same. br>br>The change affected versions with serial numbers beginning with J57AF2103 (Year 2021, 3rd week). I say "approximately" because some users claim to have received the new version while others claim to have received the older version for the same manufactured date code. br>br>The only way to be certain is to examine the inside of the collet - If there is only one (1) ball bearing, the version is older and more problematic. It's the new version with a stronger spring to keep the bit in place if you see two (2) ball bearings. br>br>To see the updated version of the Parts Diagram sheet, click here. Milwaukee, Wisconsin 2853 Bulletin No. 54 was published in the year 2000. Dated December 2020, 2890.

This is not a good idea
3/5

I purchased a refurbished impact drill rather than a new one. br>After only a few minutes of use, it began to leak oil. br>It isn't my first m18 tool, so it isn't brand new. I've given it back to you. br>.

M18 is a fantastic vehicle
5/5

Milwaukee's M18 (and M12) line of tools is fantastic. Shop wisely because this product is powerful and well-built. Prices at Acme Tools are lower than those offered by third-party vendors.

Collet issue aside, this is a fantastic tool! My father's 4Runner's tire rotations were a breeze with this Impact Driver
4/5

The sturdy construction and ruggedness have exceeded my expectations. It would be nice if the red parts were a little easier to clean of grease, but this is a tool, after all. It'll almost certainly be filthy as a result of the stuff. Used a 9. For those who are curious, there is no batter in the recipe. After the rotation is complete, it still shows a full charge. There was a bit retention issue with the collet, but Milwaukee was quick to fix it.

For those weekend mechanics, this is a fantastic Impact Driver
5/5

This Milwaukee 2853-A was purchased by me. I used a 20 impact driver to hang a small patch of wood siding and to do some minor maintenance and repairs on my cars on occasion. This impact driver has a 166 foot-pounds-per-pounds-per-pound-per-pound-per-pound-per-pound-per The lug nuts on my car were easily and quickly removed with a pound of tightening torque. I was able to complete my tire rotation in a matter of minutes, giving me more time to enjoy my weekend. I'm also a big fan of the way it's put together. The cast aluminum nose is protected by a solid rubber coating, the body is made of hard plastic, and the handle is made of a soft non-slip material. Rubber is a slippery substance. It weighs somewhere between 3 and 4 pounds. With the battery, it weighs 4 lbs, which is a manageable weight. br>br>I strongly advise you to use this tool for weekend mechanic and home repair projects.
