Questions & Answers

Is this an impact driver with a 1/2-inch diameter?

It has a quick change sleeve, and I use a variety of socket sizes from 1/2 to 3/4 with a 1/2 adapter.

Is it possible to find out how much torque the 20V Liimpact driver attachment produces?

There are better products out there that will do the job, but it depends on the power provided. For example, there are battery packs that provide more power in the volt range you have or use, such as 20volt; look at the MAH or AH of your battery pack. The majority of them come from the factory. 5 ah or 1500mah batteries typically last 30 minutes, but if you choose a 2. It will last about 40 minutes on a charge of 0ah or 2000 mah, but it will also provide more power or torque in that time (you trade lifetime on charge for power). You can get a 4 if you work hard enough. 0ah or go non-trade braded, which I've done before and gotten a 5. Some offer deals on 0ah packs that will last an hour or more, and some offer them for around $50. Just make sure they say they'll work with your product; the Black and Decker 20 volt skill saw, for example, will not work with the 5. 0ah (well, it will, but the torque from the pack will burn out the saw's motor on difficult projects, as I have warned you). On all other Bs, it works fine. I've tested all of the D devices except that one). Keeping that in mind, since I don't have a matrix drill, I'd heed that warning as well. It may work fine, but the additional power may burn out the matrix's motor, so keep that in mind when purchasing. Oh the 5. 0 of the packs I purchased were not black and decker branded, meaning they came from a different retailer, but they worked perfectly with the B&D. Aside from the skill saw, which had a motor that was overpowered, all of the D products were excellent. It didn't have any issues with the reciprocating saw, hedge trimmer, or drill; it was just a matter of skill (weak motor, perhaps?).

Is it possible to use this as a hammer drill with carbide masonry drills?

It's possible that the downward force won't be enough to crack the masonry. Purchase the Craftsman bolt-on hammer drill attachment, which is compatible with the B. Work on masonry with the D matrix system

Is there a way to make this unit work with the craftsman driver?

B& The products D Matrix and Craftsman Bolt-On are the same. I have a mix of both, including batteries, driver units, and attachments, which I can swap out.

See the image for a breakdown of the cast iron structure
3/5

The cast iron was shattered in half! I'll try to get it replaced while it's still covered by B D's 2-year warranty. It's all in the picture. I was disappointed that it broke on me, but when it did work, it was an excellent impact driver. My two-year warranty is about to expire, so I had this unit for 23 months before it broke, and it saw a lot of action. If the item is replaced under warranty, I'll update my review. I had a previous chuck driver attachment for MATRIX go bad, and B D quickly replaced it. I'm hoping the same will be true here!.

This is the best tool I've ever added to my arsenal
5/5

This is by far the most useful tool in my arsenal. There's no need to lug around a bunch of drills and drivers. Both the Black and Decker Matrix and the Craftsman Bolt On drills are in my collection- This attachment, like the others, appears to work in both directions. These were versatile enough for me to mix and match. This driver just barely outperforms my Dewalt brushless impact driver (not by much, but the Dewalt does drive lag screws slightly faster). This setup costs half as much as my Dewalt impact driver and does the same job. I wanted to wait a few months before writing a review to ensure that the product was of good quality, and I have zero complaints. This is an add-on that I would recommend to anyone who owns a matrix or bolt-on set.

It's one of my favorites, and it's been on for quite some time
5/5

I wasn't sure if I'd ever need to buy any of the attachments when I first bought the matrix system. This is the most recent addition to my "collection. " For a single job that almost required it, I needed an impact driver. At the local shops, they were priced. even the "everybody's favorite cheap tool shop" I came across this after that. This attachment was not even available to me when I requested it. It was also less expensive than purchasing a new tool altogether. Well, it served its purpose. I like it so much that I've kept it on for the duration of my bolt pre-production. jobs that are getting tighter It made things a lot easier and faster. There is no torque setting, so you'll have to go in and torque the bolts to spec afterward, but this will get them "good'n'tight" in no time. One of the most useful additions to my matrix system that I've purchased.

Exceptionally good - It was excellent and highly recommended
4/5

I had no idea what to expect from this; could it really work as an Impact Driver? I was skeptical at first, but the price was appealing, so I decided to give it a try. I had the opportunity to test this out all day while framing with SPAX framing screws. The SPAX do not need to be predrilled for speed, so driving them in will take more effort. So I plugged this into the cordless Matrix base and got to work. Wow, this thing really worked - It almost drove the first screw through the 2x4 on the first try. Wow, it's really making an impact. I'm blown away by what I've seen so far. br>br>Ok, it's not quite as powerful as the Dewalt Impact Drivers we use. Those are for all-day work on a construction site. This Matrix impact driver isn't meant to take their place; rather, it's designed for the average homeowner, and it does a fantastic job. I did use it for a few days on the job site, driving countless screws from dawn to dusk. It worked flawlessly, and I was pleased with the battery life as well. I wouldn't use it for heavy-duty contractor work, but I do have one at home for general household tasks. We've used it a lot, and it adds a lot of functionality to our Matrix toolkit bag. It seems like I can do just about any repair or upgrade at home with the Matrix bag. It's a lot less work than lugging around a bunch of bulky specialized equipment. This modular set is a fantastic addition, and the impact driver is even better. br>br>All right, that's all good - What is the significance of the four stars? Power. It works well and has a lot of power. Because it isn't as powerful as some dedicated impact drivers, I gave it four stars. It's an excellent tool, but dedicated units usually have a bit more oomph. That's why there's only one star. Having said that, I'm a big fan of this.

Great tool with a lot of punch
4/5

Edit : Now I know how to lock the bit. There was no documentation to back up this assertion. This is a fantastic tool to have; now I just need to get some drill bits to go with it. br>br>This is a fantastic addition to my toolkit. After receiving it, I realized how simple things can be and what I had been missing out on all this time. As a homeowner, you'll need to have a basic toolkit. The only major issue I have with this is - I always used drill and now realize how much force that can put on your hand, so this is way better. br>The only major issue I have with this is - When I point the tool down, the bit to screw won't stay put. There is no such thing as a weak magnet or a weak magnet. I'm surprised it hasn't come up before. It's a pain to keep the tool straight or have someone nearby who can constantly return the screw bit. Nothing fell out of the drill attachment because it had a locking mechanism. not here. It would have been better if they had used a more powerful magnet.

I understand the appeal of impact driving, but I've read a lot of impact driver reviews, and they all talk about how much easier it is to drive fasteners into wood with them
4/5

The first time I used it, I was able to confirm - It's very effective! I love the Matrix line of products, and I have a variety of them for my drill base. The lack of a clutch is the only drawback. So driving your fastener too far into the material or otherwise going too far is extremely effective. It is in desperate need of a clutch so that the power can be controlled.

This is an excellent addition to my B This was completely unknown to me! I was well aware of the fact that my B Although the D drill had interchangeable attachments, the small impact driver attachment has proven to be useful for light-duty applications
5/5

Work on a car, wood siding/carpentry, and other projects as needed. It made quick work of disassembling a number of items under the hood in order to prepare for a cylinder head transplant when used in a car, in particular. It can also be used to reattach the car's wheels. I can spin the lug nuts on tight enough to secure the wheels before lowering it to the ground and tightening the lug nuts to factory specifications with a torque wrench. The impact feature helps prevent the screw from seizing up in the wood as it turns, making it far superior to the standard drill attachment for driving screws into wood. br>br>It turned out to be more useful than I had anticipated. It comes highly recommended!.
