Hello, and yes, they have performed admirably for me in that specific application. As a guide template, I recommend using a thin piece of wood, such as a door sham. I made one many years ago and continue to use it. If you don't use the guide template, your bit may move around as you start the hole. Using a wet sponge to drip water onto your drilling surface on a regular basis will greatly improve the quality of your drilling. I hope this has been of assistance to you. Yes, it should work; these bits are designed to work with any drill. With these bits, I use a small Rockwell drill, which works perfectly.
I'm not sure, but it drills through glass, so I'm going to try river rock today!
It says 3/4" on the package, and these bits worked great for me, but I'm afraid I can't say whether the measurement of 3/4" is EXACT.

Oil was recommended as a coolant and lubricant by the manufacturer. They claimed that replacing oil with water would cause their rotary tool to break down. I successfully drilled two holes in wine bottles using the oil they provided. The following ten bottles were all busted by me. The bit was worn out, and the diamond grit had worn away. br>br>The best method, according to glass blowers at the North Carolina Glass Center, is to use a water bath and a drill with a diamond encrusted bit. They recommended Drilax bits in particular. The only option I could find to get the size of Drilax bit I needed was to buy this package of three different size bits, but I went ahead and bought it because of the recommendation. I've done twenty drills so far. I'm excited to see how long this bit will last after going through one bottle without a single bust or crack, and I should also mention that Drilax's web site provided excellent instructions on how to use the water bath method. br>br>I wrote to Drilax to express my dissatisfaction with having to purchase two unnecessary bits in order to obtain the one I required. They responded quickly and positively, thanking me for my feedback and stating, "We will be creating a listing specifically for 1/8 inch bits on Amazon. Only once have I used the 1/2 in cutter to drill a hole in the bottom of a large glazed ceramic flower pot (about a quarter inch thick). It performed admirably in this situation, leaving a clean hole and no evidence of the pot being broken. When I was finished, I noticed that the tool's abrasive edge was still useful, but not as gritty as it had been when it was first opened. I'm guessing it has a short shelf life and isn't suitable for professional or daily use. Each tool should be able to make several cuts, but because it has a bonded diamond(? It is not possible to sharpen the cutting edge.

I needed a way to cut the hole for the shower head arm to come out as I was installing porcelain tile in a shower I was building. The 3/4" size bit cut through the porcelain much better than I expected when I ordered this set. This is my second order of Drilax diamond bits (I also purchased DrilaxTM 2-pack diamond bits). 3/4" Diamond Drill Bit Hole Saw), and I adore them. I see no reason to order anything else than Drilax. Because I only needed to drill a single hole, I can't comment on the set's durability. I can say that I drilled several 2-inch holes with it, and it did everything I needed it to do for a ridiculously low price. In the same porcelain tile, I drilled 3/4" holes, and the hole saw performed admirably (much better than expected for the price).
