recently completed a job which required me to cut through a sheet of Clear beam of light. They asked me if they could buy this kit from me, so I said yes. Using the 2" cutter, they were able to drill through 1/2 inch steel. The holes were produced with oil and care using 7 to 8 drills. There is no laughing matter when it comes to these tools. Steel will not be able to stop them if used correctly.
It's usually steel panels and stainless steel I use as an electrician as well. It's been over 2 years since I bought it, and I still use cutting oil to keep it running strong.
Hey, those are primarily meant to be used I appreciate it
The low gear is definitely on. The cutter will prematurely wear out if it is used in high gear. When the gear ratio is low, the torque is high

I am the installer for the POS/IT system that this product is used with. Using this hole saw kit, I can cut through stainless steel tables and counters easily. I was very pleased with the outcome my 1st time using it. To cut through metal, no matter whether it is stainless steel or conventional metal, you need some oil or lubricant. It had the same problem the 2nd time I used it no matter how many times I tightened the hex key bit to hold it, the pilot drill kept falling out. At last, it snapped off at the end. The newest addition to the kit is a guide drill bit, so I'm searching Amazon for where to get a replacement for it. In addition, while I appreciate the ability to quickly change the blade, the cutting piece cannot be locked into place. It has occurred on several occasions that The blade of the 3-4 kept popping out every 30 seconds or so. I couldn't get it to stay put no matter how much I tried. It was extremely frustrating when both of those things happened and the guide drill bit snapped.
The fact that I never use ky yelly with them, and they just keep eating, makes me use them on high speed all the time. In addition to my co-workers, I allow them to use them, as well as saying , " Nahhhhhh dog go wide open! It's faster to do the job that way, so they do, and we do it that much faster. I think these are worth every penny, but do be careful not to loose them, because they will fly off the arbor if you are joking around with your drill and not drilling out holes the way you should. So far, I've drilled close to a hundred holes using the 3/4" and 1/2 " bits, and I've only needed to replace the pilot bit a few times.
My previous hole-cutting kit was not enough to deal with stainless steel sheet metal and kegs until I bought this set which works better than I had imagined. I have only used it in the drill press, but I have cut around 20 holes with the 2" cutter and it continues to perform Sometimes the cutter will catch near the end of the cut if I use the slowest speed, some marvel mystery oil for cutting lube, and lots of downward pressure. There is a need for improvement in my technique. What a wonderful hole saw set! Here is what I like about it As a shallow hole saw, it allows electrical enclosures to be made, but the cons are that it cannot be used with flanges Since a hole saw is a shallow cutter, it doesn't do well in cutting into pipe walls or notching pipes.
This set cost me 70 bucks less than what I could have bought it at During my workday, I constantly drill a lot of holes with them. A hole saw is not as effective as a carbide tip. As all the other carbide slot cutters are fixed, once they become dull or break a tooth you have to discard them. It is very easy with this set to just reorder another "cup" the next time you run out. Two bigger arbors and 2 new lights have just been added to my collection. With a 5 inch bit, i can drill through a standard electrical can in about 10 seconds and put conduit in place. Every day, I pop 3/4" holes with my drill in 10 seconds flat. In this bit set, I have proven myself the hero of the crew. There should be a green cape attached to it.
There are many good features about these, such as the quick change and the provision to buy the individual pieces separately if one gets lost or if It is fast and efficient to knock holes in panels and J Make sure to use cutting lube and your cutters will last longer. The price is a bit high, but it's worth it if you have a lot of conduit to run.
When it comes to cutting holes quickly and smoothly in steel, these are the best tools you can get. Steel, stainless steel, and all metal types can be polished with this product. We use these cutters almost every day as electricians and installers. the cutters seem a bit expensive, you have to take into consideration that they usually last much longer than standard bi-metal cutters The number of metal cutters outnumbered the number of metal cutters by Therefore you get ten times the number of cuts from these hole cutters compared to a traditional bidirectional hole cutter Cut holes in metal using a hole saw. Professional users will find this investment to be worthwhile.
Using it, I cut three sheets of 3-inch foam So far, it's been installed in 2" holes in electrical boxes and has been performing beautifully! I have been using it on 16 gauge steel, but I imagine it would work well on stainless steel or other metals also. Slow and oil are crucial, but the results are excellent. I've been using it on 16 gauge steel, but I'm sure it will do well on stainless steel.
