Due to the mixed responses, I think it is important for me to weigh in. A 2x4 hot dog style (which is actually 3 1/2 inches) appears to be almost or barely capable of being drilled through with it. In any case, it is very close to succeeding. It would be more advisable to loosen the hex screw while shifting the pilot bit up a quarter or half inch, and then tighten the set screw as usual. It will then penetrate the other side so you can go to it, and use that hole to center your drill as you This is a very simple, yet very effective method

They are poor quality. There is a 50% restocking fee charged by the seller (David's tools). Today was a great day for receiving the kit! This was very useful for a project I was working on. I tried drilling a hole through sheet metal with the 3" hole saw, less than 10 seconds in, there were The teeth were so soft that I couldn't believe it! I thought maybe I was mistaken, and I looked closer at the blade to see it reads "bi-" The term "metal" is used. Well, that is. As I tried again, I found the same result! I think I might have to go with a different plywood size. You can get plywood here! It was a horrible feeling to discover that I could not obtain a quality product After applying for a refund, I received it. There was also a notice of their policy of charging a 50% restocking fee along with my shipping return letter. As I thought it through, there was no way they could ever pull that off! It seems that they are defective!
I received a "50%" refund today. This is my last purchase from this seller! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! I clicked on an advertisement which started with a product from Milwaukee and Prime. It turned out that was a false statement. AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS, I SHOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THESE FROM DAVID'S TOOLS. I own other Milwaukee products and have never experienced any issues until these poor quality hole saws came along. Anyway, I finished my project with my Lenox blades that I inherited several years ago.
There is a hole saw kit for all kinds of pipes in this kit, and I've seen my friends in the HVAC and electrician fields enjoy using my kits as well, so I was happy to hear they bought their own as well. This hole saw kit is better than Lenox, and I like some Lenox products too, but this kit at this price is much better value.
My goal was to stop going to Lowes and buying hole saws one by one. I bought this set so I could stop buying them at Lowes. Only yesterday did I finally have an opportunity to use this. On some 2x12 I had to drill four 4" holes. There are two arbors on the canter saw. One fits into the drill, and the other fits into the saw. An electric drill of 20 volts is what I've got. The moment the saw hit the wood, it bound and the drill handle smashed into the wall as soon as the hole was made. What I expected was not what I got. Other hole saws in my collection are Dewalt and are not affected by this issue. As soon as I figured out how to use the saw, I As a result of the binding my hand was forced to spin around several times and repeatedly banged into the wall. Good results were achieved. Getting the wood puck out of the saw was very easy because of the smooth surface of the hole it made. In the 5-hole test, the teeth showed little wear or none at all. Had it not been for the binding, I would have given them five stars everywhere.
The hole saws I bought last year are still in great condition. Over the years, I have owned a large and growing collection of Milwaukee, Bosch and other saws of varying sizes and quality. I decided it was time to replace them with a complete set, as well as a sharper set and arbor. I was thoroughly satisfied with this set and even expected better quality than what I got. The quality of Milwaukee tools I've owned in recent years hasn't impressed me as much as it did twenty years ago. It was a pleasant surprise to find these hole saws. They have well designed arbors and a slot to insert a screwdriver for removing the plug. Of special note is the large, clear box so you can see which drill bit stacks in which pile. In addition to drilling woods and soft metals, I also have drills for drilling aluminum, and yesterday I had to drill a stainless steel water tank with a 2" bit, so I decided to review them. This is a highly recommended read.
I would like to point out a few things. Despite the fact that these things rock, I had some difficulty getting started. In order to make 4" holes in 1 3/4 inch ply, I had to drill holes of 4 inches in diameter. I would like to point out a couple of things. 1) From the pic it is hard to see but the bits are not 1/4 hex, they are 9/16 or some odd size. If you want to use them with a regular 1/4 hex driver, good luck finding an adaptor. To make a connection I tried a hex nut, but I couldn't get it to connect firmly. I also don't think the Dewalt chuck adapter for 1/4 hex worked either (too small and it is lousy) and there doesn't seem to be an adapter for the S4S Max. It must be possible to run them with something I have out there. It wasn't long before I found an old dewalt drill that had a large enough chuck to hold the bits, and I was off and running. 3) Make sure you chuck Hold your drill tightly with both hands. Bigger holes can lock up really quickly if you push too hard or drop sideways, which can give your arm and drill a good twist. I found the drills cut a nice clean circle in laminate without chewing the edges. This is a great tool overall.
It doesn't matter if you're a handyman, contractor, installer or just need hole saws to complete the jobs you're working on. THIS IS THE SET FOR YOU! WOW, this set is totally amazing for such a low price! I have never had a hole saw set like this! I have had hole saw sets from 9/16" to 4 1/2" all in one place.
How can I find all my hole saws in all the right sizes and have them sharp at the same time? During the 35 years I've been plumbing, I've never seen this happen before! Especially if you have several different sizes that you use frequently, this is an excellent There is a great similarity to the ones sold individually at hardware stores for $17 and up The cost is $35 for cutting and hole quality on metal studs and electrical junction boxes even with professional holes. A nice case that actually fits in the tool boxes in my van contains 3 different mandrels, more pilot bits, and an additional pair of bushings. A tradesman would benefit greatly from using this product.
This set has been very handy and Milwaukee quality is evident. Those aren't carbide hole saws, so be careful what you may enter, but they are sufficient for home repairs. My collection has all of the sizes I will ever In addition to being well organized, the case is compact and sturdy enough to ride in the truck bed on way to the job site. The fact that these products are made in the USA is also a major plus.
