A sketchy picture
3/5

I received a used copy of the set which appears to be great and a great value for the $$. I found the wrench very dirty and it is covered with scratches. Can you tell me if the product I bought was used or returned?.

There is no longer any reliability in Dewalt
3/5

I thought this was a very good set, with plenty of storage space. Sadly, the most important part of the system, the ratchet wrench, did not have a positive lock one way or another. The teeth engage sometimes and they don't engage at other times, which leaves the possibility for tools to be damaged or the hand injury to occur. Returning or exchanging items is not a good option for me, so I repaired it first. I took apart the wrench to do troubleshooting, and noticed that the spring loaded cam was getting caught on the wrench rim, which caused the clutch gear not to engage. With a Dremel, I was able to reshape the cam and fix the issue. I'm glad to report that it's now running smoothly, and there are no signs of any issues with the sockets. There is nothing wrong with the ratchet itself, but Dewalt QC never even tested it Based on what I've read in other reviews, many buyers seem to be experiencing the same issue. Dewalt has been part of my toolkit for over 20 years, but I've noticed the quality has declined.

Tools of high quality
5/5

This set of tools has nothing negative to offer. A small point to point out would be that some black oxide was already gone from the ratchet in certain areas, and there's edge wear all along the entire ratchet like a tiny outline. This gives the ratchet character, and it isn't problematic. The sockets in this set are specifically designed for impact work, so even if you are not using it for impact work, it is still a good set to have since impact sockets tend to be more durable in general due to the fact that they will be using power tools. A black color looks far better than a chrome one. Though the 1/2 drive size is larger than most people will need for the majority of things, it is good to have it on hand for when needed, and you only need smaller drive sizes for spaces that are small or for socket sizes that are very small. We like that the ratchet has plenty of teeth, and it feels good in hand and turns smoothly. Almost all the socket sizes you'll ever need are in this set, and this should be the only set of sockets you will ever need as long as you care for it properly. It comes in a flimsy case with rubber feet and, even though it latches securely, it If you use the same case for other products, you can stack and lock them at once so that you can carry them both at once with just a single Stay away from For half the price there are plenty of sets, but they're likely to wear out or break after only a few months. Make sure to get a good, sturdy set once, and you won't have to buy it again. The tools used in this project.

In the event a burglar broke into my house, I would grab this instead of a baseball bat
5/5

In the past 30 years, I have owned many socket sets (most of which are still in my possession today). Using this one with my impact wrench on more challenging jobs is a great idea. Kit in its entirety Almost everything - sockets, ratchet, and even the case - has been constructed as though it were As well as being solid, the ratchet has a crisp action and the sockets facilitate installation and removal. In terms of socket sets, not sure what else I could wish for.

This is Dewalt, so *1 year update* is enough to say
5/5

The reason I bought this was that I quickly needed a 1/2 impact socket set and did not want to pay the extra money for Husky's version, which was a poor quality product. In my opinion, the sockets feel sturdy and are made of good quality, however I do find them to be a bit "chunkier" than most impact sockets, so if you need thinner walled sockets, these are NOT your best bet. It works well and has a decent length, but the handle feels odd in my hand this might have something to do with the ergonomic design of the handle, but all things considered it works fine. In light of the fact that these sockets are about $4-$5 It is cheaper to buy the kit than buying all of them individually at Home Depot. *** The only con I can see is that you're missing a few socket sizes, as stated in other reviews. However, if you read the item description, it shouldn't surprise you. This is an update that has taken me over a year to complete. I must say I'm very Despite the price increase, I still recommend these sockets, but I have noticed the price has gone up.

This is a great socket set The surface is very easily scratched
4/5

The sockets that came with my computer were very strong and sturdy. This is err. Impact driver Milwaukee M18 (is it okay to use this term Almost everything about it is great, except that the nice black coating scratches very easily after the first time I use it There is a lot of space in the storage case, and everything is well organized, but the plastic seems pretty fragile. Since there are four latches on the case, the sockets are unlikely to fall out while it is in place.

Plug and socket set from SolidSocket
5/5

The tool got the job done without a hitch when I bought it to work on my car's brakes. point, I had to bang on the ratchet with a four pound hammer to break a rusted nut loose, and the ratchet didn't even blink. As well as the ratchet, this was not damaged at all by the When I was working within the very tight cavern of my small car's wheel well, the 72 points of engagement were extremely helpful. My rotors and calipers are supposed to last a long time, and this set has already paid for itself as I was not required to go to a mechanic to change them.

value for the money
5/5

The construction is solid. The box is very nice. The impact set I am using is coupled with a Bosch cordless Nicely packaged in a slim storage box, the set is easy to transport. There is probably no reason for the case to last as long as others. I won't use the set that much, however, as it is for a different purpose. I only need it occasionally for wheel rotations, brake inspections, etc. For that reason, I appreciate the size of the case, which is not absurdly large. My tool cabinet will be able to accommodate it and store it neatly. All the tools in their own right are sturdy and durable. When I used my impact wrench there were no issues. In addition to the great value, there is a wide selection of sizes that should cover nearly every automotive application. The reviews I have read on Dewalt tools have always been favorable, so I am happy to see that this set meets my The quality of their other tools might entice me to purchase them if the same quality is evident in their offerings.
