No, it's not the case. "Made in China" is printed on the product's packaging. This has nothing to do with the socket set's quality, but it does indicate where it is manufactured.

18-wheelers are used to transport goods. I work as an on-call Mobile Technician for a large company called Ryder Transportation, which means that I usually get my tools from my service truck parked on the side of the road at 2 a. m. This is about as professional a use case scenario as you can get, in my opinion. And they haven't let me down since I added these Sockets to my toolbox for the truck. Mind you, I've only ever used them with a Milwaukee electric ratchet and, more importantly, a MATCO 18-inch long hand ratchet, and I've always applied a lot of force. And they've never given me a reason to be unhappy with them. You can't go wrong with these standard six point chromes in 3/8 drive if you're looking for a good quality, low-cost set.
This is a good alternative to consider now that Craftsman tools made in the United States are no longer available (May 2020). Gearwrench tools are made in China, have excellent fit and finish, and come in convenient socket sets like this one. I'm building a new toolbox, and since my old standby, Craftsman tools made in the United States, are no longer available, I'm investing in Gearwrench products. Lowes' excellent Kobalt tools are becoming scarce now that Craftsman has replaced them as their preferred brand.
These 6 point sockets are an excellent upgrade from my old 12 point Husky sockets. I have several Gearwrench products, ranging from tap and die sets to excellent wrenches. All of the items are of excellent quality. The size markings could be a little more legible, but they're not bad and should last a long time.
It's hard to beat the price, and I'd buy more if I had the money.
I always carry a good gearwrench socket set with me; it's dependable, sturdy, and well-labeled, and I'll buy another one.
Sockets are in good condition. It also comes with a carrying case. It appears to be of a high standard.
For a living, I design and build heavy wreckers, and I put these to the test on a daily basis. Sockets of excellent quality.
