Questions & Answers

Are the 6" clamps able to perform everything the 3" clamp can? Would it make more sense to own both a 3" and 6" clamp for all the jobs you perform?

Despite the fact that the 6" clamp will handle all the same duties as the 3", it is a bit bulkier and may not fit into tight places. So I have 2 of each size in case I have any needs

Is there a reason why this clamp is so loose? Flexibility is always present in the clamp, so I can't get a solid hold. ?

Within the handle there are two small rollers -- one with a + sign and the other with a - sign Here's what I have done. You can increase your clamping power by adding the + sign. You might want to give it a try.

A clamp was delivered to me a few days ago. What is the point of the smaller jaw pad? Does it need to be cocked at a shallow angle toward Is there a spring washer between the pad and the cocking mechanism?

If I had to guess, I would say it depends on the material being clamped You have a clamp that is the right size, thickness, and angle. As long as it holds the pocket hole drill jig in place while drilling, that's all it needs to do. My experience has shown that any clamping angle the clamp can accommodate is good enough.

The clamp is difficult to open after it has been clamped. I wish I could release the clamps using the auto release like other clamps and vices do. ?

Other than trying to fine tune the knob for the adjustment piston before clamping, I don't have any suggestions. The clamp is adjusted so that it holds the project, but also allows me to release the clamp when I need it. Thank you for your patience. Sorry that we weren't able to come up with

We regret to inform you that this tool will not be of any use
3/5

was incredibly excited by the potential for using this tool on a range of project thicknesses without constant resizing and adjusting. The high-speed internet has been slow in recent years Self-adjusting technology just doesn't work, and in fact the tool is rendered During the first clamp attempt, the jaws do not After I whack it completely open, now it is so tight that nothing can be clamped. Then wack it wide open again, and it now fits together like it should. In addition, the tension varies from one moment to the next. Sometimes, when it does work, it still is too loose, so I adjust it accordingly. While that may work for a couple of clamping cycles, it will soon become In short, revise This pattern of frustration needs to be adjusted and repeated. spent half a day trying to get this thing to work without a reliable and dependable source of power. I regret to inform you that it will be returning A new idea was tried, but it didn't work the way they expected. You can still buy the old style clamps that can be adjusted manually, and they are actually functional.

If you are purchasing a Kreg clamp, get the regular one
3/5

Do not get the auto-adjust clamp if you can avoid it. For one day, I worked. It is now impossible for me to squeeze it hard enough to grab a hold of it, and I believe it would crush the work piece if I tried. There is no effect from the adjustment. You should not waste your time with it. that I've wasted so much money on one clamp, I have to run back to Lowe's in the middle of my project. As for the clamp, you can bet I'll just buy the regular one since I have 2 of them already and they have never caused me any problems. Spending so much money on something that only worked for one day does not make me happy.

It still has some issues most people find it difficult to control, but I still think it is a valuable tool
3/5

Not only does this work with the Kreg pocket screw jig, but it also works with clamping materials down. There is one thing I don't like about this clamp The auto tensioning knob you turn to control how tight you want the clamp to be will quickly tighten itself over time. After 10 clamps, it is too tough to tighten and I have to loosen it Another issue I have is the difficulty operating this machine with one hand. I have large hands and it can be difficult to operate this machine. It may take a while to get the hang of it, but you will be able to operate it more efficiently with just one hand.
This tool may not be suitable for people with average to weak hand strength. The average Joe might have a tough time using this, and sometimes it is pointless because you will need an extremely tight squeeze for the clamp to adequately clamp down. As an example, my girl friend was helping me clamp the pocket jig (and she has assisted me on a lot of projects) and she couldn't even close it. It's not so simple to build a pocket hole, but instead, if this is you, then you can just use a quick clamp from Irwin or Dewalt, which is almost as efficient as this Kreg clamp. Since I work in a wood shop, I have put my hands through many torture tests, and they are quite strong to handle the Although I have issues with the auto tension knob, I still enjoy using this clamp, which is worth the price because of the increased efficiency it provides.

The clamps I love the most! As far as my Kreg jig is concerned, I first purchased one manual adjusting clamp
5/5

The item was useful to me in many other ways and I As soon as I saw that the automatic would fix it, I decided to give it a try You may need to adjust the clamps. The grips are always the first clamps I reach for every time. But the grips are a bit far towards the end of their reach, and I wish there wasn't a shorter handle. It would be fair to say that my hands are The size is not a stretch for one-size men but it is a bit of an issue for one-size women The clamp should be held into place with your hands. An example of a small business If someone has left hand, he or she will struggle with the auto-lift, defeating the purpose of the device You must adjust. I'm a big fan of my Kreg clamps. Once they are set for tightening, they clamp down easily with one hand

EDIT There were some negative reviews on which there was a problem with the auto-fill It needs adjusting. * I'm sorry that their clamps didn't work out for them, but I am happy with mine. * * * You may not be able to re-clamp if the clamp is not fully opened. Make sure the auto-start is on My clamps do not tighten when I adjust the mechanism. Although they can be thrown open wide to reset them and they work just fine, they do require a readjustment from time to time to back off on the tension but I still prefer them over my manual.

I love the Automaxx clamps because they make clamping so easy! In the past, I have used both regular and automaxx Kreg clamps and I cannot emphasize enough how much I wish my entire clamp collection was With the automaxx, you don't have to fiddle around with fine-tuning the squeeze
5/5

As a result, it's much easier when you are working with different sizes during It's hard to avoid the rubber covers beginning to slip off the ends of the Kreg clamps, whether I use the regular or automaxx types. At first, I tried heat shrinking them, but I ended up just applying some.

Automated, but not all the time
3/5

These are some of the ones I have. It seems that there is something wrong with the automatic feature. This is distinct from the knob to adjust pressure. There seems to be two different pressures applied depending on where the clamp faces land on the project. Depending on the clamp placement, sometimes the clamp is too loose when I set it up for high pressure. Even if there is nothing in the clamp, sometimes I can't clamp it at all if I choose low pressure placement! It is to be expected that these are They are easy to use but often require two hands to get into place properly. This may not be their intended use, as they are usually able to be maneuvered with just one hand.

The time saver does not work Unlike those that clamp the wood (except if you are Thor), these do not clamp the wood
3/5

It would be easier for me to do projects with these Automated operations are those that are automatic. No, I'm not really interested in them. I've gotten so bored watching videos on how they As can be seen from the videos, they are "simply closing easily" on I do not believe it The clamp does not work when clamped down, they just refuse to close onto the wooden panel! The frustration is so unbearable. Even if I exert all my strength, these won't clamp down even with me. I'm a female, but I'm not a weakling. My project would have been done by now if I had a manual clamp I could adjust myself (even though it takes so long to do so). In any event, I had to go to big box store and buy a different one (for example, one that is adjustable) in order to finish my project. Don't waste your time wasting these, as long as you have a backup plan if you need one.
