When I put planks on boats, I use them to hold them in place before screwing them down. With their grip, they are easy to operate with one hand. When I bend wood, the clamps can sometimes slip and only conventional clamps will work, but then the loads and forces are much higher. It doesn't matter whether the plywood 2x4 is thin or thick, the quick grips work perfectly.

My main purpose was to use the tool to extend the waistband of my pants, which is what people normally do with this tool. As I grew older, I gained weight and although I still own some jeans and work pants, I do not wear them as often as I once did. As far as I can tell, I can expand the number of fields On the lighter fabrics, the waistband measures 5 inches, and on the heavier fabrics, a little less than an inch. As a bonus, it's also useful to have this as a clamp in case I need it in the future.
