Selected User Reviews For SMALLRIG Camera Top Handle Grip with Cold Shoe Mount for Digital DSLR Camera, Camera Cage - 1638
Top handle that has been well-machined and painted is of high quality. When I assembled this rig, I purchased so many accessories that I could not include a review for every one of them. My intention was to have it tested on the BMPCC4K since I'd purchased it for that device. There is no doubt in my mind that you should get this awesome It's important to know, however, that the T5 holder gets in the way of it, but fortunately there is play in the handle so you can move it to the other side. The front of this camera is a bit off center, which is just a little annoying. My goal is to attach a picture to show what I mean. I can't imagine my business without this handle! It was totally worth the money and the best handle for the price. It'll be a long time before I think about upgrading it.
I have a BMPCC 6K, and I've recently rigged out I'd all of it Considering that the price is so low, the quality is amazing. There is nothing to worry about, everything feels secure and solid. There is only a top handle, but the cage it connects to (Smallrig) is very well-machined, so you can easily put it together once it's assembled, as the hex driver is included if you don't have one An example would be useful. I only have one complaint about SmallRig. I think I need to carry three different sizes of hex drivers to use my complete rig - having a set of three makes things more complicated. If they could come up with an adapter that can be used regardless of the screw size, that would be great! But, when compared to other brands that are twice or more the price, it is hard for me to imagine what you're getting when compared to Congratulations on a job well done!.
With the rest of the cage designed the same way there is no additional cold shoe mounting option. The handle would be used to mount a monitor and the top corner would be reserved for my microphone. I don't think this will work with this system. Now is the time to move on to something new.
As soon as I saw something to grab, I realized I needed something in my hand. Although this handle was easier to operate than other handles, it is also much cheaper at To hang a LED, boom mic, and possibly my Zoom H6, I need a way to hang it. The problem was solved as soon as I mounted that to the Smallrig cage. Faced forward, I am able to see the viewfinder. Facing backward, I am unable to see it. That way I had a few more options after ordering the 2 sets of cold shoe mounts. We found the solution to be perfect.
As I've said before, it's not crucial to operating the camera, but it is extremely helpful. Usually when I pick up the camera, I'm afraid of dropping it, or smudging the lens, or hitting the wrong button (all of which I have There is no need to worry about anything with this handle. The camera is also easier to use at arm's length because it makes shots Using the handle, one can balance the camera nicely, which is not so easy to do when one is clutching it there directly with one hand. Overall, it is a nice permanent addition to the set up.
The cage was originally screwed directly to the hot shoe of my DSC RX10II before I got around to installing the handle. It's very sturdy, so I ordered up a couple of them. As a medium to large handed individual and a bigger guy, I found the handle to be quite generous in size, with plenty of room to spare. It's also nice that the handle includes a shoe slot at the front. I give this piece of hardware a thumbs up.
A handle would have made it more comfortable to shoot because it felt awkward shooting without one. I found this handle to be the perfect size for It has an adjustable head so you can turn it upside down and take low angle photos. A good rule of thumb is to tighten the screws! It isn't a deal breaker but this is a little of a con. There is a bit of a slickness to this because it is metal. Some days I tend to worry that it might slip out of my hand, so I might add a rubber grip strip.
It is the NiceyRig NATO Cheese Handle with 15mm rod which worked better for me, a more versatile handle, good value, and works better for In my opinion, the NiceyRig provided a better value than the similar SmallRig.
