The fact that I had to wait so long to discover these quality clamps is beyond me as a remodelling contractor. types of clamps of this type (DeWalt, Irwin, Quick-release Wolfcraft), the phrase "you get what you pay for" pops into my head. There is no denying that these are a bit pricey, but the quality and ease of use are head and shoulders above the rest, and in the midst of a frustrating remodel, it matters to have tools that can be relied upon without complication or complaint. It would have been easier if I had not bought the 2 packs when I realized a 4 pack was only $1 this morning. The tool is not at fault for the addition of 50 more, which is unfortunate. This 3/4" shaft fits perfectly in bench dog holes with 3/4" shafts. I find the handles and the release lever to be the most ergonomic I have seen. Ends that can be removed easily and reinstalled with confidence are reversible. Getting a clamp to clamp at 300 pounds is top of the line, and it is obvious that this tool is built to do the job. This is NOT a light duty 6" clamp, in fact a word of caution to potential buyers is they may just be too large or overkill for some applications due to their bulk. I am not anticipating spending much time or effort on the lock together function of the clamps I received. You can expect a tool that can withstand some serious abuse on the job site while keeping its smile on. In addition to what others have said, I highly recommend it.
Woodworking is the only thing I know how to do. Except for constructing a few crude bird houses, I've not done very much. My wife asked me to build a 6" x 9" x 3" block for her, so I decided to make it easy for myself and just cut 1" cedar pieces, glue them together, and then finish the whole thing. It turns out that some of the wood was warped. Therefore, I gambled and bought six of these clamps out of desperation. Due in part to the power of these clamps, I was able to produce a remarkably high-quality finished product. Even though the pieces could be clamped tightly enough to eliminate the warps, they did not mar the surface of the wood. This is my favorite kind of thing.
) and all of them serve a variety of purposes My collection is enormous, and I have plenty of them. In that case, here are some of my favorites There are many wood clamping applications that can be performed with clamps. To begin with, I bought two pairs initially, and I have since bought more of the same size and in a wide variety of These clamps are good value, strong, well made, very convenient to use with one hand (when you have one hand on something else) and they have plenty of clamping pressure for just about any wood clamping job. I highly recommend them.
Removing the separately detachable jaw is a simple and quick process. These clamps stay fastened to my workbench thanks to their holdfasts. There is a 1-dollar bill in my pocket On the workbench I bought, the bench top is 1/8" thick. In addition to conventional holdfasts, these clamps did not enlarge the hole in my bench dog. I get exactly what I hoped for without any distortions to the There is just enough clearance for the 3/4" bar to fit through the dog holes of the bench. They have not given me much confidence in their ability to spread parts, but I imagine if they are well made, they will be good for that purpose.
It has not been long enough for me to be familiar with the full scope of options available in quick clamps, so I'm not sure whether there are other brands that can provide In a youtube video, a woodworker from the UK flipped these two clamps tip to tip, and via a groove mechanism joined the clamps together to make a thinner, longer clamp! My plan is to make these longer and use them for jobs with more robust materials!.
With this clamp you can daisy chain it to extend the clamping reach beyond the 6" of a single clamp (but only on the same model). The ratcheting tightening trigger has excellent gripping power and a tight clamping force that is amazing. I bought a pair in a longer length for the shop because I was so happy with them.
It is so flawless you can't even tell that As they are so sturdy and substantial, I am sure they will last a lifetime (or at least the rest of my life). These are a good thing to have on hand for odd jobs like this.
I primarily use it for simple woodworking projects, and I'm no expert, but they're the only clamps I use. The weight of these is a little higher than I expected, but they are worth the slight premium in price. The clamps are, on the whole, great.
