It is a great construction I love the grip This is a great set of clamps for working with. The black plastic caps are made of cheap material that discolors your wood when they contact it, so I find this very disappointing. It is easy for them to fall off. My guess is that this shows me a don't care attitude. Quality control and engineering teams have a "can-do" attitude. We would have given these five stars if we could. I am really sad about this. A failure is the cheapest part of the clamp. I am Klaus.
The clamps provided by this company are excellent. As soon as I received them, I found them at a big box home improvement store that was cheaper! Fortunately, the clamps I purchased from Amazon are as advertised, and I'll keep them, but it shows that you can sometimes find items on your wish list from a retailer near you.
Since I work with wood where I work on my knitting machine, the suction cups are useless, so I needed clamps that could hold the knitting machine steady and are easy to use. A pair of these clamps will do the trick. It has extra strength and is heavy duty. feature a lever that makes tightening or removing them a breeze. The clamp can also be tightened down by twisting the lever for that last bit of security. By turning the knobs, I can knit hats for dozens at a time while my knitting machine remains completely still. There were two of them in my cart. My only intention would be to buy them again if anything should happen to them or I had to buy clamps for some other reason. The hooks hold tight and are simple to apply and tighten as well as In addition, the clamp has rubber tips that help hold the clamp in place and also protect whatever they are holding.
The serrated edges will last longer if you rub a little paraffin wax on them The clamp can be moved up and down smoothly without any roughness. It is my expectation that these jaw clamps will last a long time. * ADDED 08/3 The thumb screw in one of the clamps was missing the plastic foot, so I lowered my rating. Once I left a phone message and twice I sent emails to Great Start Tools, but I never received a response.
So far, the clamps are great, however, the seller offers no support.
A universal truth is that you can never have too many clamps. There are times when you need a clamp that won't hold 300lbs, but just enough to hold something small. $40 clamp, which has a grip of 30 pounds. My wife bought six of these and I may purchase 6 or 12 more, since I seem to need another one every few months. A very strong glue should not be used to squish a bad joint into submission You can deform them if you reef on the grip too much It's okay to tighten, but this is not what these things Specifically, a 3rd or 4th hand can be used at the table saw, bandsaw, and drill press.
The first time I ordered these, I was a little skeptical, but the moment they came I was blown away. These clamps are very sturdy, I use them to hold down various projects such as sawing, clamping parts together, etc. I have other, larger clamps that I sometimes find in the way on some of my projects, but these little ones are easy to work with.
Small jobs can be done with these fairly tightly. These were purchased especially to put on a workbench from Home Depot titled "Portable Jobsite Workbench". There are channels on the bench for clamping a piece of wood, which acts as a makeshift fence. The router sits in these channels. Despite their size, the channels fit perfectly within them, and they are strong enough to do the job. As well as storing a cutting guide, I have used them to get rip cuts to last longer.
While logic would dictate that you always need bigger clamps, there are some projects that prove that to be incorrect. The smaller glue ups and smaller space were the reason for buying these. This type of pressure is excellent for applying the right amount of pressure where it is needed. In my shop, I can use my larger clamps for bigger work and save space at the same time. Would have bought them sooner if I had known.
