I know it says 6" steel bar, but what is the maximum clamping size? This is the clamping size, or is that the size of the jaws?

In addition to spreading, how do these work?

Can you tell me how long the clamp is? There is a reference to 6" but that makes no sense to me. ?

These jaws can open up to 7" if you remove the pads. I have tons of these. The reason I know is that I clamped two 2x4s together last night (3. Each 5" long)

Here is where you begin your quest for great clampage
5/5

It's not always easy to acquire things in life, but when you've worked hard for them, they're sweeter. It is important to take care of yourself The rewards are that much better when you have fought for them. There is no exception to the rule with these clamps. The tamper-proof, industrial strength clamp is the perfect place to begin and end your great clamp adventure I've encountered tough packaging before, but this stuff is a whole other level. Ugly packaging, in my opinion. Have to take a case cutter, a sharp knife, or power tools to cut it open and get to the clamps, which lie inside. It is not easy to wedge it open partially, then tear the seam apart with a jaws of life unless you work for the fire department. So you would have to cut through it to get through it. Then you would have to get through the irregular shape and tough There is a nearly 100% chance that you can cut yourself with your knife or the plastic itself. once you get home from the emergency room, I hope you can continue with your job and free the clamps without further injuries. As far as the clamps themselves go, they work like a charm. As a result, "mini" is somewhat misleading, as these aren't The micro-sized bar clamps by Irwin are what you want if you need really small bar clamps.

You can tell how things used to be when you see how they are now
3/5

These clamps have changed from the old style to the new over the years, not for the better, as you can see in the picture. You can compare them (left) and see the old one (right) in the picture. You need to pay attention to the circled part. The new one has a screw that keeps the pipe connected to the jaw. Inevitably, after some use, the threads on the screw will gradually loosen until one day just when you need it, you will find that the jaw has fallen off and the clamp is no longer useful. You don't even have a chance to look for the tiny bolt or screw on the Because I own clamps of this style (maybe another brand), I know for a fact that this is true. Look closely at the product pictures, and you'll see that the ones used in the video are the old style ones, and you'll get the new ones. My old ones, which I had for quite some time, were really good. I love how easy they are to use around the house and how versatile they are. The product was changed from one that was decent to one that was inferior. It is not even as thick as the pad. The bolt will still get lost if it falls off, but I will tape up the top before using them so I won't have to worry about losing them.

It is still good, but it is worse than the Over 100 clamps have been purchased for woodworking and I am always looking to add to the collection
4/5

The manufacturers of my two favorite clamps for a quick clamp are Irwin and DeWalt. After only a few uses so far, my overall impression is similar to what I was expecting. The clamps are excellent all-purpose clamps that can handle light duty work. like how well the device operates and how high the build quality is. Compared to the exact same clamp purchased one year ago, they seem a bit inferior in quality. It isn't the same as the previous model, some of the plastic molding is different, and the pad color is different. Despite this small difference, it does make a My overall impression is that I would repurchase this product.

The cost-effectiveness means that I was able to do my cabinet building on a budget
5/5

Those are a great fit for the budget and work great. A panel was added underneath the bottom of my middle cabinet to hide the pocket holes.

The quality of the production was poor It did not come fully assembled or with all of This page was updated on March 26

Upon taking the package apart, I discovered that two of the four had the stationary piece detached. It did not have the nut for the two bolts There was a problem with two screws. Due to that, I cannot use two of them at the same time. They were a replacement for an equivalent Harbor Freight item I bought and I figured the Irwin brand would be of It turns out I was far from right. It is possible to buy items by Irwin without all of the pieces, as they weigh less and are lighter. HF is the place to go! Don't go to these! I have updated Irwin contacted me shortly after I wrote the review to sort this out. It was necessary for them to have my address in order to send me However, they sent me a new bolt/nut set anyway, even though I replied that they could just send me the two bolt/nut sets. That was much easier than fiddling with hardware, and more than 4 clamps are working, so amazing customer service. But why not just do it right from the beginning?.

An unexpected drop resulted in the plastic breaking Work still exists for 3 of them
3/5

The following update has been posted They no longer make them as tough as they used to. On a bench, there were two 2'x4'x4's clamped together. A 3 foot fall was apparently caused by the device being off balance. In this case, the release mechanism was damaged by a broken piece of plastic. It is not the clamps' job to do the job but they do the job This would be ideal for a construction site or garage (see picture last). It's great to have clamps like these. It is impossible to have too much. This is the best value for a light duty F clamp this size and this level of duty. They are made in Taiwan, but I found them very well made (at least the ones I got). There is a clamp that opens up a little more than Also, there is a minimum amount of slipping when clamping. There are plastic pads on the couches. Lightweight is the best way to describe these.

Weighs less than 30 grams I spent the day working on small projects
3/5

A cheap price. I like the rubber cushioning on the back (it doesn't leave dents on the The pros are I'm sorry - Compact - light I am currently working on a few small projects*- The cheapest* - The rubber padding is good ( it does not leave marks on the material)
Please go ahead Fast clamping is not possible because of an overly tight clamp

Cons I'm sorry - After a year, it begins to wear down (it does not clamp as tightly)*- A couple of screws break over time as a result of pressure-- It is a little bit weaker than other clamps

I have had these mini clamps for over a year and they tend to break and The clamps often let go when I clamp the wood together sometimes, but sometimes they slip back into place, so by the time I see them tomorrow morning, the clamps are gone. According to the different kinds of materials I'm working with, it would be loose, but I would struggle to clamp things down as tightly as I should. A good option for small projects, this clamp is portable and doesn't have the same holding strength as a heavy metal clamp. You probably won't want to use this if you're a hardcore woodworker, but if you're a student, you will probably want to use it for The metal clamps with the screws on the bottom are the most suitable for making wooden furniture.
