Questions & Answers

Are they strong enough to support large budded branches that I grow marijuana?

It will hold amazingly well if you wrap the Velcro around two times. You may be disappointed if you only do a 1 inch overlap, but if you do a 2 inch loop with 4 inches of Velcro, you can hold 20-plus items. It's simple to lift 30 pounds.

Is this a product that can be used year after year or one that must be thrown away?

Yes. I have some velcro strips that I've had for a long time.

Is it possible to tape this to a stake to help root a cactus?

Mr. Peyo, I'm in Virginia and we don't have cactus plants, but I've used this Velcro to tie young tomato, pepper, and cucumber plants together to keep the wind from damaging the young stalks after transplanting them, and it works great. I don't tie them too tightly so that the plants don't get hurt. This Velcro tie has made a big impression on me. I first used it in the summer of 2014, and I'm not going to buy anything else. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is this product strong enough to stake or cage full-sized to large tomatoes, such as Big Boy, Better Boy, and other varieties?

It is, without a doubt. It's on all of my clematises, including a few that are quite large, as well as my tomato plants. It's a fantastic and powerful piece.

Every 12 inches, the name "VELCRO BRAND" is imprinted on the product
3/5

Photos for this product are not included in the listing. Every 12 inches, the Velcro brand name "VELCRO BRAND" is stamped on the product. The product listing photos do not show this obnoxious print. That advertising does not belong in my garden. All of the other green tape of this type that I've purchased has never had any writing on it. I believe the goal is to blend in with the surrounding greenery. The product is in good condition. I would not have purchased it if it hadn't been shown on the listing.

It's soothing and effective
5/5

This is something I use on a lot of my plants. both inside and out This keeps my heavy irises blooms off the ground in the spring when the buds are too heavy for the stems to support them. It holds all of the leaves back after blooming to allow nearby plants to get some sunlight. It keeps my monstera leaves and aerial roots close to the moss pole by holding them up. When you give pothos vines something to climb on, their leaves grow bigger and faster, which is why this method works so well. The best part is- It blends in well and is kind to stems and aerial roots. I'll keep buying this as soon as I run out. It is strongly advised!.

Price increased by 40 percentage percentage percentage Number two of the updates: I only had to pay $3
3/5

In 2018, I paid 57 for this tape a few times, and it's now only $5. 98! I had given this product five stars, but the price increase in just a few months is far too drastic! br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I believe I've purchased four rolls of this tape because I keep finding new applications for it. I've used it to keep coiled nylon rope together, electrical cables tidy and compact, a large vine held much tighter to the stair railing than it would be otherwise, and so on. br>br>This spring, I've used velcro tape to secure a variety of plants. I've been pruning a large privacy screen made up of Pittosporum, English laurel, and a few other plants, and I've created gaps in the process. I was able to position the stems that have some flexibility in such a way that they filled in most of the visual gaps by using this tape. Perfect!br>br>I'm sure there's a limit to how much resistance/weight it can take, but I've found that doubling the tape back on itself at the point of its furthest reach (rather than a straight section in the middle where the tension is different) allows it to hold quite a bit. br>br>I'm so excited about this that I've already purchased three more roles, so it's obvious that I can recommend it!.

It does not work with the "recycled" version
3/5

I've purchased several rolls of Velcro brand garden ties in the past few years and have been pleased with the product, which I've used successfully in both indoor and outdoor gardens. This time, I purchased the recycled version. When it comes to recycling, I am a firm believer in doing so whenever possible. The recycled product, on the other hand, isn't identical to the original. It would not stay closed unless I cut much larger strips to wrap around almost twice as much. They loosen and fall off the plant even when I use extra length. With the original version, this never happened. I'm not sure what else this product has in common with Velcro's original plant ties, and I'm not sure why recycled materials would make such a significant difference. As much as I enjoy recycling, this creates more waste because I have to buy twice as much and have to constantly replace the ones that have fallen off.

a firm grip! Adjustable and with a soft backing
5/5

This is a far better option for tying plants than anything else I've tried. Others require you to tie a knot, whereas this one simply requires you to place one end on top of the other and it snaps into place with no effort; I was also surprised by the strong hold! It's not easy to snap off unless you pull it apart, and I like that it's very soft to the touch, so it won't harm the stems. You can easily adjust it in the future to accommodate expansion or growth. I'd recommend going with a longer piece so you can make changes later if necessary. I'm glad I came across this product; it'll come in handy for any gardener. Works
5/5

Velcro is a well-known brand of hook-and-loop tape. Because not all hook-and-loop fasteners are the same, not all hook-and-loop fasteners are the same. Velcro brand and-loop fasteners are a great fastener, just like any other Velcro product. br>br>In general, these plant ties perform as expected. I had to use twist ties to save some plants from a storm while I waited for my order. Although the plant was saved from the storm each time, the twist ties damaged it each time, so it was fine for an emergency. br>br>Switching to these Velcro strips solved all of my problems; the strips do tear easily from the roll if you don't have a blade on hand, but once attached, they hold plants securely and have stayed attached perfectly. I have a clump of irises that bloomed during a period of strong winds. Every single one of them was secured to a stake by a single Velcro loop measuring no more than 3 inches in length. There hasn't been a single time when I've failed. br>br>This fastener is ideal: it's simple to use, holds its shape well, and the green color blends in well. My plants have been unaffected by the strips as well. It is highly recommended.
