I'm not sure what it is, but it's a powerful force. I'm very pleased with the results in terms of keeping my two 14-foot-tall Ficus trees in place during the monsoon season in Arizona.
It's simple to tie knots in. The straps, on the other hand, are extremely stretchy, making it difficult to maintain a firm grip. In addition, in direct sunlight, the straps deteriorate and only last for four months. 6 months prior to the break.
I've had mine for a few weeks and have yet to notice it unraveling. When cut, it frays a little, but not enough to bother me. If necessary, a flame appears to be a viable option for sealing it.

After a couple of wind storms, the strap is still holding up well. Because it has some stretch, it needed to be adjusted after the first use, but it has remained in place since then. Against any of the trees, the material does not appear to be abrasive. Cutting and knotting were simple, which made it much easier to use than many other options that didn't hold up as well in the wind.
Material is extremely tough and long-lasting. I doubt I'll ever need to re-write anything. I used this to tie the trees and branches that I used it on. I'm not concerned that the straps will cut into the bark because of their 1 inch width. One thing that would be fantastic is if this came in a plastic dispenser that made it easier to organize and use - I was very concerned about dropping the roll as I worked the straps through some extremely tight spaces. I can easily see the entire roll unraveling, which would be a pain to reorganize; therefore, 4 stars for ease of use and 5 stars for everything else.
It appears to be doing its job, as it appears to be supporting a few sections of a large shrub that were knocked down by snow last winter. The tape is a wide polyester mesh that is used to secure items. The shade of green is ideal for blending in with the shrub. I don't think the tape will cut into the branches if it's kept flat on the plant, but only time will tell. It's holding up pretty well, but we'll see how well it holds up in the rain and snow. Cutting and tying were simple. So far, everything has gone well!.
I'm using it to keep the boards on an old fence in place. Because the boards on this fence are brittle, I couldn't just screw the loose ones back in place, so I bought this strap to keep them in place. I used washer headbr> screws to go through the strap and into the wooden crossbeam, and it's holding the boards in place nicely.
It's simple to use and won't harm your plants in any way. I am very pleased with the excellent quality. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
The flexibility of the strap is ideal for tying knots while also feeling sturdy enough to provide the support my trees required in my yard. After two weeks of use and two tropical storms, it appears to be holding up extremely well.
The weight capacity was one of the reasons I bought it. For a swing, I purchased this instead of heavy rope or chains. I still had to throw ropes over the branches to pull the strap back over (antislip isn't an exaggeration), but it works great.
This helped me replant a 20-foot magnolia that had been blown over during a hurricane. It was more than strong enough to support the load, but the elasticity exceeded my expectations. As the webbing stretched, I had to reattach the ties multiple times. It was smooth sailing after that, and I was carrying a heavy load.
