You could use the 350 remote control to open the gate.
In addition to the 12 v battery, a transformer that supplies 18vac is required for the 271 MM gate opener.
Separately, yes, you need to purchase
This is definitely not good. Often I have to be right on top of the gate, and even then I can't make it This is not a reliable source of information.
Selected User Reviews For Mighty Mule MM271 Automatic Gate Opener, Single, Black
I have used multiple mighty mule products and installed them for family members they have generally been at a price point/reliability intersection I find acceptable. Leaving one behind isn't my idea of fun The reviews are five stars. I have found this product to work only partially well, in that my window closes where it should more than 95% of the time (which is enough compared to the previous product). Basically, you should be able to install this gate opener if you have any previous experience with gate openers. It is convenient to use a battery because you can place it anywhere and you don't have to run expensive 110 copper in a conduit. For $600, I do have some concerns. First. The range of the transmitter is absurdly short. For this wireless system to work, I have to be within 10ft of the device. I tried to adjust the antenna and replace the batteries without much success.
I am going to take the second route. The move at a slow pace. Approximately 30 seconds each - The door should be open soon. The first thing they notice when I show them my gate is this sign. The third reason is you pay a premium for smart integration, not just that you can have it. This is ridiculous, not to mention You may not need an overly complicated system that has a proprietary wireless connection for your gate opener so that you can browse a poorly rated app that may open your gate remotely. In the end, however, there is one important factor. There was a problem with spare parts in this project, which was the responsibility of the person in charge. You may be entitled to a refund or replacement if your product is outside the manufacturer's warranty If you get the kit damaged by water, misuse it, have your teenager run into it, or deem it outside of the warranty, you must purchase a brand new kit totaling $600. Having experienced it myself, I am here to share what I know. The company does not carry spare parts for this product. This item won't be sold to you as spare parts. I'd be happy to pay double the cost for the part if you are willing to do so If you ask them to sell it, they will not. Based on my own experience, I know. While I have already enjoyed some mighty mule products in the past, I can state without any doubt that this.
The customer service at Mighty Mule is terrible. I have just concluded a phone conversation with them and it's as if I was speaking to a brick Initially, she was rude to me. The second thing I am doing is going to Lowe's to get the rest of the parts that I need for the install which ARE stated in the manual as "included". It is not as if I received someone's return, since the box was new and sealed?.
This is the poorest gate opener built, 90% Chinese, can't talk to them because they are all in use, no customer support, no response, has to install it twice, won't work without car battery, JUNK> My experience with mighty mule this time has been great, but mighty mule is complete trash. I returned mine after 10 days of frustration. They only sell these at a high price, genie gate openers are going to junk dealers since they are hard to program. Had gate openers for 40 years, all 110volt, and they didn't have much trouble. Instead of buying here, please visit another store.
Earlier Mighty Mule gate openers used a transformer powered by 18 volts. As stated in the user manual for the MM271, the transformer output is 18 to 30V The version of the AC is 22. As a result, I was surprised when the output voltage proved to be 40 volts AC. When I called the tech line, I waited 30 minutes on hold with an I spoke to an accommodating and helpful telephone representative. After discussing this with him, he chose 18 vAC as the output and requested a replacement be sent. As I expected, the replacement transformer also read (40 vAC) but after the obligatory 30 minute hold time I learned that the transformer output was supposed to be 18 vDC, not AC and that the user manual was inaccurate (just like the original technician's The voltmeter displayed 18 volts DC for both transformers after I changed the settings. While I can keep the extra transformer, I will not be able to get back the time I wasted.
The only negative thing I can think of is one. It is a myth that they stay on your car's remote. When we programmed it, it worked, then all of a sudden it The tech support representative states that they are aware of this but do not know why it occurs? There seems to be no way to turn off Ford. Despite the change, Toyota keeps it That's not going to work! I'm not interested in Hyundai! Make sure you have extra remotes on hand.
2003 was the year I installed my first Mighty Mule. The vehicle was a workhorse, able to run by itself In the past, the new model was sturdy and self-contained, but provided no problems until a component failed in the circuit board
But the new model is not as robust. Also disappointing is that it must be ordered as a deep-freeze model. The system runs off an automobile-sized 12 volt battery (plus a weatherproof container). Last but not least, older controllers could not be programmed to run There is still no guarantee that this one will last 18 years, as I've only been up and running since 12 Feb 2021.
Despite the fact that there is a hardware bag with bolts, nuts, clevis pins, and hair pin clips, this bag wasn't present. There is a remark in the kit that it is included. It is my hope that the hardware store has what I need otherwise, I'm utterly hopeless.
The gate opener I installed this morning was very easy to install. It was easy to follow the instructions. With the lawn mower battery and solar panel I bought from Amazon (much cheaper than mighty mule), I built my own power source. There was no shortage of parts. The hard disk was taped to the back of the foam packaging in which the controller was shipped, so I had to search for it for a while. It took no time at all to program the remote. Hold the button on the remote for a few seconds then turn the unit on and hold it until the unit Once the gate has been set up for a few seconds, push the button just before it reaches the fully closed position and your gate is ready. You need to press the button again for it to open. The gate is a bit slow in opening, I agree. Many gate controllers are slower today due to safety reasons than they used to be, and this comes from years of experience working with them.
