Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Simply walk into a room to light it up, and adjust the intensity depending on the time of day, such as with a gentle, warm nightlight to help you navigate your home at night.
This Hue Motion Sensor is battery-powered, wireless, and installation-free, but it does require the Hue hub (sold separately) to connect to your Hue system and be controlled via the Philips Hue App.
It can be placed in any room of your house, including the hallway, bathroom, kitchen, and so on. The built-in light sensor conserves energy by detecting when rooms are empty and turning off lights automatically.
Add Hue accessories (sold separately) like the Hue Tap or Hue Motion Sensor to make it a part of your Hue home lighting system. Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant all allow you to control your home with your voice.
Connect it to your SmartThings system from Nest or Samsung. A Hue Motion Sensor, two AAA alkaline batteries, a magnet, screws, a manual, and a two-year warranty are all included in each kit.
California is not served.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it outside?

No, according to the Philips FAQ page; however, because it is IP42 rated, it can be used in the bathroom.

Is there a way to make echo plus work with this?

Greetings, Amazon Customer! Yes, the Echo Plus has a built-in hub. Philips Lighting is here to help.

The text says 2x aaa batteries, but the description says 120 volts. Is it possible to use a 120v outlet with this model?

Two AAA batteries are undoubtedly used to power the motion sensor. There is no way to connect it to a power source that is connected to the wall.

These motion sensors are truly amazing
5/5

They work best in areas where you will be spending a lot of time. These motion sensors are fantastic if you have a clear idea of what you want to do with them. They're best used in areas where you won't be spending a lot of time and only want bright (evening), dim (late night), or no (daytime) light. I have three of them in hallways where I don't require dimmable lighting. I have two in my bathroom, which is a place where you'll probably want another source of light (ideally a vanity light) that you can turn on and off manually when you need it. One sensor is in a walk-in closet, and another is in an unfinished crawl space beneath the house. All I need for all of these areas is the ability to switch between bright, dim, and no light, and these dimmer switches are quick and reliable. I wouldn't put them in bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, or living rooms where you'll be spending a lot of time and thus want to cycle through custom scenes and don't want your lights to turn off after a short period of time; however, when used properly, these motion sensors have exceeded my expectations.

This is a fantastic addition to our Hue System
4/5

Three of these are currently in use around the house in various locations. They're a nice addition to our Hue lighting setup. Now the light in the closet that the wife always left on turns off automatically (in addition to turning on when you walk in). ) When someone enters the door, the light in the entry hall turns on for a minute before turning off. When used in the right situation, I'm a huge fan of these. My only gripe is that the software only allows you to set up two times per day. For example, from 7 a. m. to 7 p. m. , the lights in my entry hall are turned on at full brightness. 00 AM - 00 PM, then on at a low setting from 9: 00 PM to 9: 00 PM. 00 PM - 00 AM. I wish there were more options for more flexibility at different times of the day, which is why I gave the review one star. I really like how the mounting system is set up. The small round magnet is screwed into the wall or placed on metal, and then the sensor is attached to the wall mount via the magnetic connection. You can easily adjust the angle in the app before adjusting the sensitivity. Alternatively, you can simply place the sensor on a shelf that is more appropriate for your needs.

It's even better now that it's part of the Philips Hue family
5/5

I have one in every room of my house, including the bathroom, hall, and kitchen. Seriously, unless it's pitch black, who turns on hall lights on one end and turn them off on the other? I walk down the hall with this, the light turns on, then turns off a minute later. I walk into the kitchen to get something and there is light, but it turns off as soon as I leave. The fact that it's part of the Philips Hue group means you can have it trigger anything and change what it does depending on the time of day, which is far superior to using a standard wall motion sensor to replace your light switch. So, I have two separate hallways, and walking out of one of them turns on the lights in that hallway, as well as another nearby hallway near the bathroom. Both of those lights would not have been turned on otherwise.

Only turns on and off Hue lights
3/5

I'm sick of receiving smart WiFi devices without any documentation. What you get is as follows: Open the app, select Settings, Accessories, and then follow the on-screen instructions. I had mixed results when I placed the sensor in various locations. Either it worked or it didn't work. Returning to setup, I see a message stating that there is enough light, followed by the word "inactive" in red print. It turns out that if the sensor is exposed to bright light, it will not activate. The solution can be found in 'advanced setup,' where you can adjust both the motion and ambient light sensitivity. As a result, there is a problem. It will only turn on Hue lights that are connected to their bridge. You won't be able to change any of your Alexa-enabled devices. There are no Wemo switches, Sonoff switches, or LED bulbs that aren't Phillips. It's a one-trick pony, and like the rest of the Hue line, it's overpriced for what it can do.

The key to success is perseverance
4/5

If you want to create a fully automated connected home, this is a fantastic device. However, I must caution you that patience will be required at first. I'm almost certain you'll want to return it if you don't give it at least a week of tweaking. br>The Hue Motion Sensor has a lot of settings and adjustments, which is great, but getting it just right for you can be a pain. I have my kitchen light sensor set because I'm in and out of the kitchen cooking or cleaning, and it's nice to have it automatically shut off if I'm gone for too long. It's also nice not to have to remember to turn off the lights all of the time, but it took a while to find the right motion sensitivity so that it wouldn't ignore me when I walked into the room, but also wouldn't go off every time one of my pets scurried through. It took about a week, but I must say that I am very pleased with the product; just be patient if you intend to buy.

It works perfectly! This is a fantastic addition to the family of hues
4/5

My lighting system can now be completely automated. Although response time could be improved, it is not a deal breaker. br>br>The Hue App is the only thing that could be improved. It currently only allows the user to create two scenes: I'd like to see Philips open it up a little more so that users can create more time setting profiles in conjunction with the sensor. Integration with Apple's HomeKit system should also be included! br>br>4- if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to Now you get a star, but if the above two pointers are implemented, you'll get a five-star rating. Star!.

This is something that all parents require
5/5

My son simply does not seem interested in turning off the lights when he leaves his room, no matter how hard I try. I've been very pleased with Hue products in recent years, so I decided to give this a try, and I only wish I had done so sooner. br>br>It took him a few days to adjust to the lights turning on and off on their own, but he's now reaching for the switch less and less. Setting a schedule to prevent the lights from turning on while he's supposed to be sleeping was simple. It's also a nice feeling to walk into a room and have the lights automatically turn on. br>br>Now all I have to do is fight the urge to scatter these items throughout my home in order to achieve peak laziness.
