The range of products is excellent - In two months or less I had no issues at all - There will be no drop outs or light outages once a switch is added. We had Wink for six years and it worked perfectly. Last weekend, we disposed of it in our fire pit. The literal sense. This is what we burned. In the case of the winks we used the Lutron app to turn the house lights on and off while it was on fire so they could witness a real lighting system in action.
This Lutron system is worth the investment. In cases where you need more than 75 devices (that add up very quickly), the Radio RA2 system seems to be the best choice.
The extra range was exactly what I needed for I wanted to be able to control my lighting. They said I could only put one on, but I really want two. There are two other detached buildings in my driveway, and I am only able to receive one of them with one repeater. As soon as they get to the point where it is possible to use two repeaters, I will purchase.
It is unclear what the purpose of the 24/7 perimeter light is. In the same white "carcass" as your SmartHub, you find this repeater. As an example, you may have the SmartHub in the same A/V closet with your router, but this repeater sits in an outlet in the wild. There is no need for the thin perimeter white light bar surrounding the box on all sides. At night, the glow will be visible even from behind a chair or bookshelf. Providing you have some black electrical tape to wrap around the switch box, it isn't hard to fix, but it takes away from the elegant appearance and thoughtful design associated with Lutron.
The lights respond so much faster as a result. It wasn't until I turned it on that I realized I needed it. I feel so much better now!.
It allows me to utilize Lutron products outside of the house by improving the communication signal. My woodshop was now accessible from the house thanks to switching on the lights and heat.
