Ladders should be positioned. First and foremost, I do not own a Little Giant ladder. My multi-purpose Gorilla is 22 feet long. A ladder that resembles the Little Giant in terms of position. The brackets are missing from my ladder. So here's how I got it to fit without having to drill into the ladder. I made do with some scrap 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC. 2 5" segments have been cut. After that, you'll need four adjustable metal plumbing brackets to secure the PVC. Before tightening the brackets, make sure the Air Deck is in the correct position. On one of the Air Deck posts, you'll need to file/grind off the small plastic tab - With my bench grinder, it only took a few seconds, but a hack saw or file would work just as well. I then used duck tape to cover the brackets, ensuring that no sharp metal ends showed through and that the bracket did not slip. It's a perfect solution.
After reading other reviews, I double-checked that it would fit my Little Giant before ordering - My one has very obvious mounts for it, as well as a label that basically says 'Air Deck' that goes here, so there was no question. It's well-made, mounting/dismounting is simple, and the catches engage with a satisfying click. br>br>I found it to be a very useful addition when the ladder is in its 'A' configuration - The platform means you're not juggling paint pots and brushes, balancing tools on ladder rungs, etc. - The handrail helps your stability (I'm not the most poised performer on ladders) and allows you to work a rung higher than you might otherwise. It definitely aids you in working smarter rather than harder. br>br>It performs admirably in its intended role.
I remember seeing this on TV many years ago, but my early Little Giant ladders couldn't fit the air deck. I discovered I needed the air deck after purchasing one over a year ago to hold my paint while painting, and the air deck in the storage position allows you to climb a step or two higher on the ladder while providing something to grip.
The XE in the title of my ladder does not appear to stand for Extreme, which is listed as a compatible ladder. They need an explicit model number list of compatible ladders, as have many others, so they had to return.
I can't use the stand for paint or tools because it's too high off the ground for me to work comfortably from while on the ladder. It isn't strong enough to support your weight. If I could adjust the height of if it was 10-foot tall, that would be fantastic. Shorter by 12 inches.
Almost every time I use my ladder, this is the first thing I do. It serves as a hand bar when standing on the ladder platform and holds cans/ pails, has holes for screwdrivers and other tools, and holds cans/ pails. This item is extremely adaptable.
The best part is that it saves you from having to climb up and down the ladder to retrieve the tools you'll need for the job; on my first job, it must have saved me at least ten trips up and down the ladder.
