I received a full refund when I returned this knob. The entire thing is made of As advertised, there are no stainless steel items. The original knob I want to replace melted, just like the one I want to replace.
Stainless steel is not the right material for this project. There is painted plastic on the wall! I'll take $25 off of you!.
I was disappointed with GE (but not so much with this seller). Knobs made of plastic tend to fray very quickly, and ours began to do so As for an alternative, I don't know what else to suggest. It all comes down to a decent stove with knobs that don't last. It is not possible to clean them or wipe them.
At a rental property we own, we were trying to replace a broken knob on a stove. Upon arrival, the product had a lot of wear, including the outer color rubber being scuffed. However, even though it was still usable, it didn't look as good as new as it used to.
I wanted a knob that would fit my stove, but it was too expensive. I had to buy three of these and they were extremely expensive for just knobs, but they served my purposes. I bought 3 of these and they fit great and I haven't had any melting issues as other comments have mentioned. I will mention that I expect the knobs to eventually become worn and holed. Nothing lasts forever, you know!.
Initially, I did not recognize that the silver on my bracelet was NOT sterling silver, but just a decorative element. Consequently, all of my covers have been damaged, as has the other "silver-tone" cover A coating that looks like a coating. My new covers look just like the originals, and I'm so pleased with the outcome. I wish I was able to fix the other "silver" on my set.
It does not meet the advertised specifications. In the description, stainless steel is mentioned as the knob material. It's just plastic painted with a coating. Due to the fact they stated stainless steel, these were my first choice over others. A fraud of the highest order.
Though I was disappointed that I had to order one within a year of purchasing my stove / oven, the fact that it was available online and arrived quickly made up for it.
