The type of knob fitted to a dimmer can be either of two types. Two in the shape of circles and one in the shape of a half moon. The half moon shaped stem of this one will only fit over the stem of the dimmer switch. The item is unlikely to be worth returning. However, you might have luck making a modification that will work with a dremel tool or drill bit.

A control knob is what it is. Except for the description, there isn't much to get wrong. My purchase was based on a description that claimed it would fit most rotary dimmers and fan speed controllers. Shaft controllers in this style will only work with this part. The round shaft controller that I own is a 360 degree one. So I guess I will have to go through visual inspection at my local big box store to get the correct item. It is also important to note that this item cannot be returned. Please make sure you have a shaft that is of the D style.

There were a variety of prices listed, but this is the least expensive one. This system was installed a few months ago, but is still in excellent shape. Although I was worried about the durability at first due to the thinner plastic used compared to the product that was priced 5 times more, everything is fine.

Whenever I have bought products from Amazon I have been able to return them if they did not The size of this dimming light was a little too small for my dimmer and after reading the reviews, I should have realized that it might not work. We learned from our mistakes. I wasted a lot of money.

I think you've almost got it right. I'm not sure what caused the discolored area between the new knob and the old back panel that is not the knob's fault. I would buy from them again if I needed another knob.

We had a crack in the knob of our dimmable light switch. I was able to replace the cracked knob with the wooden replacement knob since the instructions were clear. I didn't have to hire an electrician, and I like the result!.
