Unlike the originals, these knobs are made of metal rather than plastic. An insert is glued into the metal knob that consists of a plastic stem and a banded insert. Despite the stronger looking knob, these seem to be more durable than the originals. The ones I just bought seem to be in much better shape compared to the ones I bought about two months ago. It did not fit the knobs on my stove so I had to discard them. Having to return them was out of the question.

Over the course of several years, I went through GE knobs several times. Because they were made of plastic, they were constantly breaking. In one instance I bought an alternate brand and they were made of plastic and thus broke again because they had been used for a long time. These metal knobs, with stronger inserts, came as a surprise and I was pleasantly surprised. There are only a few minor differences between these and their original GE counterparts. In addition, the price of the knobs was half of what GE was charging. This is definitely a knob I would recommend.
These are well made, but they stick up way too high.
I am very happy with my purchase of these knobs. It is easy to install (just push the knob onto the hole). The door looks great as well. Easy to use and a great alternative to ordering stovetop replacement parts from GE's website, which can be more expensive and "temporarily out of stock". Make sure the model number in the description matches the stovetop's.
The knobs on this cooktop are better than the ones that came with it. Two had broken due to gentle use of the originals, which were made of plastic. Since I bought three sets initially, I thought that in case more of the originals broke, I would have three spares. These metal ones have instead been substituted for all five.
Unlike plastic ones I had in my range before, these are metal ones, not hollow like the ones I had before. They cannot easily be taken off by small children, which I also liked. In addition, it seems like the grease does not stick to it well, so it is much easier to clean I just want to mention that when installing these you must give them a little push to ensure that they sit properly.
Range knob sticks out from the face of the range because it is not able to slide on the shaft very far.
The knobs were used to replace the GE stove knobs on my stove. Compared to the original ones, these are a little too snug and it does not go all the way down. The problem is that they still work. Stainless steel knobs are good quality as they are made of steel.
There was a reason I had to go back home. I didn't like it.
