This isn't even close to being an air conditioner. This is insulating foam that is used to wrap around a window unit air conditioner after it has been installed. For this purpose, it is an excellent insulating foam.

I was apprehensive because I am not skilled in this area, but after doing some research on YouTube, I decided to give this insulation a shot. It was extremely simple and adaptable to my needs. I cut it down to size, stuffed it in the crack, and covered it with weather-resistant tape. tape that is proof It looks fantastic; unless you get up close and personal, you won't be able to tell I used insulation. Now that my apartment is nice and cool, I don't have to worry about it getting too hot. I would strongly suggest it.
I hesitate to give this three stars because one of these issues could be unique to my installation, but my windows are the old-fashioned kind with six small panes, and I couldn't fit it between the upper and lower sashes. It is not compressible at all, unlike ordinary foam, which is soft and springy and ignores obstacles. It also has a very unpleasant rubber odor. br>br> Other tapes I've used haven't had a smell of foam. Overall, it's adequate, but only if you have a suitable opening with no window dividers.
One of the four edges has a smoother texture than the others. If the product had been one of the foams sold with self-peeling tape, which it isn't, this is most likely where the tape would have been placed. I bought it to stuff between my Bali blinds and the window frame in my home theater room to keep light out during the day, and I plan to use a few squares cut from easily removable clear double-sided tape. To keep them in place, use double-sided tape.
This insulation foam is excellent and does its job well. I recently bought a Midea U-shaped table. The provided insulation foam was of poor quality, as was the shaped window a/c. Plus, having extra foam on hand is beneficial because it is thicker and of higher quality.
This is a very soft, open-celled flower. There isn't a lot of structure here. It's got an odd, almost sticky texture to it. It worked for my application, but given how easily it can be broken up, I don't think it will hold up in the long run. There is no resistance and it squishes down to nothing when squeezed between your fingers. I don't think it'll be able to withstand UV exposure, either. I like the size it comes in, but that's about all I have to say about it on the plus side.
It bridges the gap between your air conditioning unit and the window.
It's a million times better than the foam that came with my air conditioner. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it. Keep in mind that this is a non-profit organization. There is no "sticky" on the back of this tape (which I overlooked), but it is so thick and provides such a good seal that I don't believe it is required.
When I put it in areas that needed sealing, it expanded and formed a better seal, which worked well for me.
