I'm not sure what you mean when you say "put them around the air conditioner." This is only for the top of the air conditioner. However, I'm sure you can cut and arrange the pieces however you want. This piece has a magnetic quality to it.

The clattering sound of drips from our upstairs neighbor's air conditioner falling onto our air conditioner has been greatly reduced as a result of this. However, it hasn't prevented moisture from accumulating and forming biological communities inside our air conditioner, resulting in a strange odor; it's better than it was before, but the problem isn't completely solved.
I purchased this item to protect my air conditioning unit. I live in a condominium, and the air conditioner above us used to leak water onto ours. The constant dripping became too much to bear, so we looked for a solution and found this. Cutting it to size and putting it in place was a breeze. The foam top absorbs the sound of dripping water, and the magnetic backing secures it to our air conditioner. The product performed exactly as expected.
In general, I like it. My only suggestion for improvement is that the magnet be stronger. On a particularly windy day, I covered the air conditioner with a plastic cover, anticipating that the magnet would keep it in place. The next morning, I had to go out and pick up the cover in the middle of the street because it had been blown away by the wind.
The packaging does not resemble the item's appearance on Amazon. There is no product information, and the item has been stuffed into a plastic bag with no labels - and the foam appears to be peeling away at some of the edges - It would not surprise me if this item was used and then returned. It also comes with a rain cover, according to the description. nope. I'd gladly return it, but under the current circumstances, that's easier said than done.
Now that summer is over, I'm writing this review a little late, but better late than never, right? I've had a window air conditioner in my room for many years with no problems, but I got a new one this summer, and the first night it rained, I ended up on the couch because the rain was so loud on the outside of the AC unit. I never had this issue with the other one; I believe it was due to a design difference. Anyway, the next day, I went online to look for something to drown out the sound of rain on the AC, and I was fortunate enough to come across this! br>br>It was so simple; all I had to do was go outside, measure and cut the piece for the top, and I slept like a baby for the rest of the summer. It stayed put through a lot of rain and some strong winds and never blew away. It also lasted the entire summer and is now as good as new, waiting for me to put it back in next summer in my basement. It also keeps the dirt off the top of your air conditioner. Excellent product, which I strongly recommend.
tat- The rain has left a tat on everything. At times, it sounded like a badly choreographed drum circle. br>I knew I needed some sort of sound dampener, but how effective could a 1/2" of foam be? br>The answer is that it works incredibly well. It's not 100% quiet but it is certainly not worse than rain on the windows and more importantly it's no longer a distraction. These are what I bought for all of my air conditioners!.
I bought this cushion to help prevent mold from growing in my new air conditioner. After only three years, I had to toss my previous one because the inside had started to turn black with mold and had a slight musty odor. br>Like another reviewer stated, this cushion has effectively eliminated any irritating rain sounds, but it has not prevented moisture from accumulating inside the unit. I thought it was still a good option at first, but the cushion has absorbed all of the moisture and is soaked through and through. Even with the magnet in place, moisture manages to get into the unit. Taking it off and letting it air dry in the sun is the best option. Next summer, I'll give it a shot in the hopes of making a difference. br>It's a big cushion; By halving a cushion, I was able to get two uses out of it.
It is unlikely to blow away. I've noticed a significant reduction in noise when it's raining in the two weeks since I installed it. This is something I'm glad I bought.
