Questions & Answers

Is this something that would work on a brick home?

Yes. For solid concrete or brick sills, plastic expansion screws are included in the bracket. Drill guilding holes first, then insert plastic expansion screws into holes in the sill or ledge for anchor screws. However, make certain that your window sill has at least one. The concave block should be placed at a 5 inch width.

Is this suitable for a vertical window unit with a width of approximately 19"?

Yes, any vertical sliding window unit will work with this bracket. There is no limit to the size of the window. However, you must use 2-inch blocks to secure a block to the windowsill or ledge. Screws that are three inches long And you'll need at least one on your windowsill or ledge. The block should be placed at a 5 inch width.

Can I use this bracket if my windows are flush with the exterior wall?

Yes. It is possible to adjust the bracket arm.

What kind of air conditioner filter can I get for this?

It's not an air conditioner, but rather a brace for one, as shown in the photo.

It was a fantastic experience
5/5

I went ahead and added two more screws. The distance from the edge of my aluminum window to the building's side was eight feet. 5". Have an air conditioner that weighs 85 pounds. Found a center of gravity that wasn't in the center of the air conditioner. Underneath it, secure the bracket. I didn't use the rawl expansion screw seats made of plastic. The screws went through the aluminum frame and into the wood. I took advantage of all four screw holes. There were only two mounting screws included with the bracket. Two longer decking screws were added. As you can see in the photo, adding a block of wood beneath the bracket on the windowsill would provide additional protection. It appears to be very sturdy and is significantly less expensive than other brackets of this size, so I'll be removing it all in the winter.

I was disappointed because my expectations were not met
3/5

The brackets did not achieve the required height from my window sill to the base of my window, so I do not recommend this product. The plastic blocks that came with the unit were insufficient to provide firm and stable support for my window air conditioner. I told the seller about the problems and showed him several photos; Unfortunately, the seller refused to accept a return and suggested that I resell the item on another platform. I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase and would not recommend it. It goes a long way to provide excellent customer service!.

It's cheap, it's sturdy, and it works, but it's not easy to set up
4/5

It was the cheapest heavy-duty window bracket option, so I went with it. It delivers on that front, and I recommend it if you have the time, some skill, and not a lot of money. br>br>Once installed, it feels solid and adequately supports my 90-pound air conditioner. There are no broken, bent, stripped, or missing parts, and it does not appear to bend. It's big enough for a medium or large air conditioner. br>br>The build quality appears to be on par with that of store-bought parts. The rubber foot on this two-piece bracket is functional and bolts together at all joints. Because of its size and the fact that I don't trust it to account for the required tilt (3-degrees), the built-in level may be useless. 5 degrees) that window air conditioners require. br>br>Installation is clearly where the cost shows up. Everything necessitates the use of tools, and putting up a fence on your own is difficult. If your walls are as thick as mine, you'll have to mount the front of the bracket on the outside windowsill and support the AC and protect the frame with wood or something else. The plastic spacers for the windowsill part aren't the best or most durable way to adjust the height above the windowsill/frame, so I recommend replacing them with a piece of wood. I'm hoping I won't have to take this bracket down or put it back up while I'm here. br>br>4 stars because it works and is strong enough, but it does take some effort and possibly some modification to set up.

Currently working on it
4/5

The instruction sheet has been updated with the necessary changes. It appears to be quite sturdy, particularly for the small air conditioner I'll be using. I haven't installed it yet, but I'm gathering tools and scrap metal for the job based on other reviews. br>br>The strange thing is the instruction sheet (as seen in the photos). The back has a mirror on it. reversed. I scanned and updated the instructions in case any other buyers have the same problem. I'll write more about it once I've installed it.

Great
3/5

In retrospect, one air conditioner isn't quite enough. Instead of just one, I'd like to see these in a two-pack. It was, however, very simple to set up and it performs admirably. However, I recommend getting two instead of one so that the distribution is more even. It won't hold up the entire air conditioner; you'll need one on each side because it won't be safe enough in the middle by itself.

It's strong and simple to put together
5/5

I bought two of them, and they do a great job of supporting my two 10,000 btu window air conditioners. Because I rent, I have it braced to a 2x4 instead of directly to the window sill, so there are no marks or holes.

The Angle of the Platform Doesn't Seem to Be Affected by the Adjustment Holes
3/5

While I was able to make this work for a standard size window unit in the end, the provided hardware is extremely cheap. Take note of the photo of the bottom mounting block screw that comes with the kit. Overpour slag clogged the Phillips head slot. There are no quality control inspections carried out here. I had to go to the hardware store to install it because I was installing it for an elderly aunt who didn't have any spare screws. I was able to make it work by fiddling with the angles, but despite the apparent infinite adjustability, the various settings only slightly affect the angle.

I didn't like that you had to install it by screwing through the bottom of the window vinyl. It appeared to be well constructed, but I returned it due to my unwillingness to permanently install it and concerns about water damage.
