For me, these pads are ideal. I use them for roller skating and they absorb my falls pretty well, don't feel tight at all, and adjust well.

Trying to fit my 8 year old into a small size

A medium has been delivered, but I'm fairly certain a small was ordered. My 8 year old could wear them with just the strap to avoid sliding the sleeves over the knee or elbow. They may be a little snug, but they can also be worn just with the straps. She should be able to wear them for at least a year or two, given their durability. This product seems quite sturdy, and has already been scratched and scraped (which is what it's supposed to do, to prevent scratching and scraping.

Definitely prevents kids from getting scraped on their knees with this product

The kids enjoyed them a lot. It was better to protect the knees with the full plastic protection when roller blading. It was just disappointing that during this pandemic the prices went up to $25 from $20. They were $19 at Target later in the day. It would have been nice to know.

There is a problem with the quality of the knee pads

Even though this set of pads is reasonably priced, the quality of the items themselves is poor. There was an outer plastic shell on one of the knee pads covered by padding that wasn't centered. It is visible in the photo that the knee pad shell on the left is not centered and that extra padding can be seen on the inner side of the In other words, when you strapped the knee pad to your knee, the protective shell would not be in the center and would not provide the proper amount of During a minor fall while skating, the child reported that the wrist guards did undoubtedly prevent injury. I bought these pads for the child and reported that the pads were very comfortable to wear and that the wrist guards in particular did provide some protection.
