I'm not sure where to lodge a complaint, but the feet did not perfectly align with the hood of my car. While the width of the front end was correct, I had to adjust the back end to fit my car. The bars appear to fit snugly against the car, so I'm lucky I got it right the first time. My issue is that the feet are unable to angle and thus cannot rest against the rood's edge. This has less to do with your feet and more to do with the traverse foot pack. The front end is tight, but the back end protrudes, and vice versa. br>br>I drive a 2016 Toyota Corolla. Overall, putting these together and installing them on the car was a breeze. It took about a half-hour for me to complete. Because the parts are sold separately, the most difficult part is gathering all of the instructions and ensuring that you follow them correctly. It's a simple project to put them on the car once they're put together. br>br>I got the 480R foot packs and the aeroblade package. They are much more durable than they appear, and considering how solid they feel, they are also quite light. They'll hold on to my car's roof without a doubt. br>br>You can find out what you need for your vehicle by visiting the Thule website. I got all of my parts from different places to save money because they are expensive, and I like that all I really need is a new foot system if I ever want to install this on another car.
I tried a couple of other brands that were significantly less expensive, and they were awful! Every penny is well spent in Thule. br>br>A 2016 Nissan Versa Note Hatchback with our rack installed. We're driving from Columbus, Ohio to Seattle, Washington, and the road hasn't moved in over 1200 miles. br>br>The only criticism I have is the size of the installation. For a more secure fit, I had to adjust the X and Y distances slightly. I didn't change the W or Z dimensions.
On a 2020 Audi Q3, it works perfectly with the AeroBlade Edge 7603. There's no problem with clearance on the sunroof, but the pictures here aren't accurate, and the Thule instructions are dreadful. I couldn't find any good videos on the Thule website as well. The silver bar went well with the silver roof rails, in my opinion.
The 47"Aeroblade, the 480R foot packs, and the Kit1064 fit kit are all included in this review. br>I used to snowboard and have an old Yakima Rack. It spent a couple of years in attics, and I had duct taped the foot pads to the Q towers to keep them from falling off. I don't think Thule's system will require tape. Each of the above-mentioned pieces' design and construction are just as good as they appear in the photos. I was quite taken aback. The blades and 1064 Fit kit didn't come with instructions, but the 480R traverse foot packs did. To get the easiest installation instructions, go to Thule's website, click on fit guide, enter your vehicle information, choose your rack, and then download the PDF installation instructions. You'll need three measurements to put these racks together:

There is no talking in this professionally produced 5-minute video. It simply depicts a man erecting the rack, with text added as needed. With this video, Rack Outfitters has made this installation foolproof. br>As much as I admire the Thule system, I'm returning mine because it prevents me from driving out of my garage with my kayak on the Tacoma's roof rack. This rack doesn't seem excessively tall to me, and my kayak (a WS Tarpon120) isn't particularly tall. My Tacoma, with 31" tires, isn't too tall, in my opinion. My house's design is flawed. What was advertised as a "two car attached garage" was actually a one-car garage. There are five parking spaces in the garage. Alternatively, one car with enough space to walk around. I'd love to speak with whoever decided that 7' was the appropriate height for a garage door in modern home construction. Only two of my four trucks have fit in my garage during my time here. In order for me to drive out of my garage with the kayak on the roof, it must be flush (or nearly so) with the top of the cab. The Thule Xporter 500 appears to be the only kit that can do this right out of the box. It's a significant price increase from the $372 I paid for this setup to $584 on Amazon, but based on my experience with this system, I'm confident it'll be equally engineered. I'll save $5 if I spend the extra $200. Every time I need to load my kayak, it takes me about ten minutes. If the ease of loading the kayak onto the truck encourages me to spend more time on the water, it will be worthwhile in the long run.
This kit came with the 480 traverse foot pack and the LB50 roof rack load bars, which I bought together. The picture instructions are, in my opinion, a little archaic, but they do save a lot of paper for multilingual instructions. Before heading out to the car, read through all of the instructions, identify all of the parts, and see how they fit together. This kit is designed to fit a Dodge neon and includes clips that slide along the roof ribs where the doors close. The rubber seal is easy to remove from the rib and replace on the clips. The rubber cushions are well-suited to the roof's contours, and the roof is sturdy where the feet are to be installed. Alan wrenches with a T handle that acts as a torque indicator are included in the kit. When the center deflects, the fasteners are properly torqued, and the mount becomes extremely solid and secure. I've now carried two kayaks on this rack for several hundred miles with no issues. When the rack is not in use, simply loosen the fasteners and remove the rack, leaving the body clips in place because they are nearly unnoticeable on their own. Excellent engineering that has no negative impact on the vehicle.
The Thule crossbars and podium foot kit are a perfect fit for the flush mount rails and hold them in place tightly. Thule's products are well-made and attractive, as they always are. After 11 years of use, my last set of Thule crossbars was transferred to my wife's new car, and they still look as good as new.
