Prior to installing Thule roof racks on my small truck, it got 18 mpg. After that, I was able to achieve 16 miles per gallon. This fairing is only designed to reduce noise generated by roof racks, so I thought it would help me get more miles per gallon. Just my two cents' worth; Do not make a purchase based on the assumption that you will use a lot of gas.
It appears to be functional, but I am experiencing more wind noise than I was before. Thule was contacted, and after removing all of the rack's accessories and reinstalling it, the problem persisted. Worst of all, the wind noise begins at around 40 mph, rather than the 60 mph it would be without it. I despise returning items, and I was looking forward to lowering my highway wind noise. Unfortunately, I must return it; however, I will not be reimbursed for the time I spent installing it. Also, why is Thule gloss black? Smh.
I went ahead and spent a little more money. I'm glad I took the chance. It was simple to set up. The level of excellence is outstanding.
"Universal" was said by all. My Lexus is a 2021 model with Lexus cross bars. nope . I'm not even going to try to tighten up. The distance between the Thule piece and the crossbar is at least 3/4 inch too large. As a result, the mount shakes and you can't tighten it. As a result, my best guess is that you should buy 1/4 to 1/2 sheet of rubber. Then, using three 1" x 6" rubber strips, reduce the gap between the crossbar and the molded plastic Thule piece. If I could do it all over again, I would. It's not something I'd be interested in purchasing. It appears to be of poor quality. A reasonable price would be around $49 at the most.
Prior to the installation of the wind fairing, there was a distinct wind whistle from the forward rack, but this did the trick in eliminating the whistle (which was particularly annoying on long drives). My Mazda was a good fit for the 44" size.
UPDATE! br>After using this product for seven days, I've changed my rating to one star because I'm extremely dissatisfied. If you drive faster than 50 mph, you will notice a significant increase in wind noise. br>I had them installed on my 2020 RAV4 limited AWD, and they completely covered the roof rack system. I'm going to put it through its paces on the road at speeds above 65 mph and see how it handles a car wash.
Civic model year 2018.
It appears to be in good working order, but one day while driving, I heard some light tapping from it and then it stopped. I've had it for a week and while I like the look and style, I only gave it four stars because the parts could have been put together better. I'm only being picky.
