I'm not sure what the maximum tire size is, but I've held a 37x13 before. On my pioneer platform, I was able to use a 50R15 tire with this unit without any problems.
When I asked my husband about it, he told me that he had secured our truck tire on the top of the vehicle with plenty of strap left over! He was fairly certain that it would suffice for your application.
Will fit any roof rack with a 1 1/8 inch gap between hooks. Any bar or anchor with a diameter of less than 1 1/8 inch can be used as a hook. The three hooks on my Rhino-Rack Spare Wheel Strap are secured to the 1/2-inch-diameter crossbars of my Yakima Load Warrior.
I'm using a 10mm double loop wire and a padlock to secure the wheel and tire to the platform.

I haven't had any problems with it, and my tire has been mounted with these straps for about 6 months and they haven't loosened at all. The only thing I've noticed is that the blue color on the straps is fading, but the functionality hasn't been affected.
It's functional, but not particularly effective. The straps scream a lot in the wind. Also, while ratcheting the other side down, the sides without the ratcheting come loose. This was something that could have easily been improved upon. But it works and is inexpensive; all you have to do is put up with it for a while.
One of the straps was upside down because all of the hooks were sewn in the same direction. Apart from that, it's fine.
For our next trip to Alaska, we'll use this item to secure our spare tire to our roof rack.
It has a nice look to it and it tightens up nicely. The tire appears to be in excellent condition.
I had no trouble mounting the BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. Using this strap with soft loop tie down straps, transition from Terrain KO2 LT215x65R16 to Thule Trail 823 (Thule Trail XT Medium). br>And my car breezed through the 2700-kilometer HOKKAIDO JAPAN road without a hitch.
All good!.
