Surprisingly pleasant to the touch. I'm always falling and hitting my head while hiking, so this came in handy, and it's already saved my life a few times.
Overall, my husband (who is writing this) thinks it's a good idea. )) works as a stagehand and wears the helmet while rigging and constructing sets. Only the chin strap is a drawback. Over the ears, it's a tad too short. It would make a huge difference if you could just add another half inch. It has a tendency to ride up, rubbing my ears with the straps. It isn't a major issue, but it is present.
The back of the straps swivels down, allowing you to rest it wherever you want. You can also tighten the fit with the dual ratcheting piece. It doesn't sit very high on your head, so it doesn't feel like it's dangling over your head. With all of the vents, it has a good breathability. Nothing about it would I change.
I bought it to use as a light emergency helmet. I wish I had chosen a model without the vent holes running the length of the side.
This is a fantastic helmet. I have a small head and was concerned that this and other helmets would not fit me after reading several reviews. This helmet's adjustability is incredible, and it perfectly fits me. I would recommend this helmet to anyone who needs one and has a smaller head!.
I've used it for outdoor climbing and it's definitely kept my head safe on several occasions!.
