The vents allow for excellent air circulation while riding, and the light weight (2lbs) makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I'm currently riding a Boosted Board Mini S with mine. br>br>Size: Because my head measured 22 inches, I chose the LARGE size, which fits perfectly! This helmet looks great, fits well, and is ideal for EUC (electric unicycle) riding, which is more likely to result in a face plant than most other activities. These are well ventilated but keep you warm even in cold weather. Oakley's O- The Frame MX goggles are ideal for it. br>br>It was only two days before I was hit by a car while wearing this helmet. While on a cross-country trip last week, While on an EUC, I was walking across a street when I was hit by a car. I flipped onto the car's hood, then flipped off the drivers side, hitting my head several times. I don't recall the exact number or position of this helmet, but I recall it clearly saving my face when I was finally face-to-face with it. The street was planted. This helmet delivered far more than I could have hoped for. assisting me in surviving 3500 pounds of steel moving at 10 miles per hour It takes a lot of courage to go 15 mph while avoiding serious injury. br>br>I've already placed a second order. br>br>According to their sizing chart, I should wear a medium, but my head may be unusually shaped. I'm a big guy, so the large is perfect. I expected this from fitting full-face motorcycle helmets, so I went with the large size. This helmet's sizing appears to be very similar to that of HJC, so you should try one on at your local motorcycle shop to be sure. If you want your teen mountain biker to have a safe ride, I highly recommend this helmet. br>I bought this for my grandson for Christmas, and on New Year's Day, he took a bad fall on the pavement while speeding downhill at about 40 mph. He hit the ground with his right shoulder and the right side of his head. He has severe road rash on his right side of the body, but he would have suffered a serious head and face injury if he hadn't worn this full face helmet. The impact damaged his helmet, but he was unharmed. I ordered the same helmet right away, and he's waiting for it to arrive. br>I've included photos of the damaged helmet to demonstrate the extent of the damage, and it's clear how hard he was hit. I'm glad he was wearing this helmet because it saved his life. This is something I'd buy over and over. br>I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could, but there are only 5 available.
Two of the three most crucial features of a mountain biking helmet. Impact protection is the other, and possibly most important. The helmet paid for itself and then some after I went over the bars and hit a rock with my head. While the impact was loud, the helmet absorbed it and I only felt it briefly. It's extremely lightweight and comfortable, and it provides excellent protection. br>br> It's something I'd strongly advise you to try. I was so taken aback by it that I bought one for my wife.
I'm new to mountain biking, but I'm a motorcycle rider who understands the importance of wearing a full face helmet while riding; even a minor mountain bike fall can result in serious head injuries. When trying on helmets at my local bike shop, the typical half helmet seemed loose, and even after adjusting it to a proper fit, I had the impression that the helmet could easily twist off. The full-face helmets they had looked great and fit well, but they were way out of my price range. I discovered this helmet on Amazon and am glad I took a chance on it. My head circumference is 59 centimeters, and I ordered an xlarge based on the recommendations of other reviewers. I could have probably gone for the large. Because of its shape, I believe some people believe the helmet is too small. Which is more of a round oval, whereas the majority of Americans have an intermediate oval, implying that the helmet is rounder than the majority of people's heads. When it comes to motorcycle helmets, I've always been a fan of the round oval and intermediate oval shapes, and I've always fit comfortably in both. Even though the xlarge is a little looser than I would wear on a motorcycle, it passed my test and is suitable for mountain biking. Basically, I always put on my helmets and then strap in; first, I check to see if the helmet rotates on my head, then I try lifting the helmet off from the back, then from the front while strapped in; if it appears to stay in place, it will most likely stay on my head when I crash. To check for snugness, I'll lift the helmet from the sides and see if my skin on my forehead moves with it; if it slides too easily and doesn't move, it's not snug enough. The helmet and size were both acceptable, and the overall weight and comfort were excellent. You also appeared to be quite slim (you didn't look like a bobblehead). The majority of my rides have been in 95-degree heat; yes, I sweat, but you sweat in any helmet when you're active in the heat; however, I can feel the airflow when moving. The helmet is easy to put on, and the visor adjusts up and down. The ear pockets are a little small; the top of my ear brushes against the top of the ear pocket. They could possibly increase the size of the ear pocket. The helmet liner is technically removable, but getting it back in is a pain, particularly around the brow. You must fit the liner between the eps and the shell when reinstalling the liner. Motorcycle helmets have been doing this for a long time and are much easier to work with than this helmet, but it can be cleaned. I chose white so that I don't attract any more sunlight than is necessary, and it also looks nice.
The materials are of excellent quality, and the fit is excellent. I went with the XL and it's perfect; I also installed a low-cost Bluetooth system and am very pleased. It's been ideal for the winter and spring months in Florida. I'm not sure if I'll be able to wear it all summer, but the ventilation is excellent. Although the green was not as vibrant as I had hoped, the design was striking.
