Valve types that are common.
You have a small stature. A small frame size would be ideal for you, but I'm sure a medium would work well as well.
Selected User Reviews For Diamondback Bicycles Overdrive Hardtail Mountain Bike with 27.5" Wheels, 18"/Medium, Red
I decided to buy a Diamondback Overdrive after doing some research, and I went with the red 27. They gave me a black 29er when I was 5 years old. I considered returning it at first, but ultimately decided against it. I'm glad I didn't get rid of my 29er. The 27. I believe it has a lot of power. This is something that a number of people would struggle with. br>br>A couple of things to keep in mind:
- It was not difficult to put together.
- The seat that comes with the car is a disaster.
- Order a neoprene guard and a guide if you're worried about chain slap on this bike. br>- The tires have adequate traction for New England terrain, but I believe they will quickly wear out.
- The brakes make a lot of noisebr>- A professional adjustment is required for the front derailleur. You must beg it to shift while moving.
- It's an XC hardtail that, if you let it, will want to go downhill.
- I replaced the pedals and handlebar right away. The fork will be replaced as soon as possible.
- Overall, it's a good deal and a lot of fun to ride.
The printed materials for Diamondback need to be updated. My first one was directly from Diamond Back and was severely damaged - At the bottom, there's a huge gash. The manual's link to an instructional video was incorrect. The manual had an incorrect phone number. When I told Diamond Back that I had purchased an old bike on Amazon, they laughed. It's not an old bicycle - it's a brand new one. It's a model from 2017 - However, a rude Diamondback employee prompted me to request a supervisor. They sent me a replacement for free, and I returned the one that was damaged to Amazon! So what was once a negative has now become a positive, but Diamondback is overconfident in their product and needs to come down to earth a little. The bike is incredible. br>br> Outstanding craftsmanship! Riding it makes you feel unstoppable. For a proper and smooth shift, you must get in the habit of fully pressing the gear levers. I highly recommend it, and I hope you never need to contact Diamondback - The phone number they print is incorrect, so you'll have to look it up on the internet to find the correct number.
This is an excellent bike for someone who is taller. I am 5 feet 7 inches tall, and my standover height seemed reasonable for trying a medium-sized bike because I also straddled two sizes - small and medium. According to my inseam, I'm between sizes small and medium. Bike fit is critical when choosing a bike, but with today's geometries, stand over height, which used to be 3 to 4 inches, is now a single defined point from the top tube to the ground (manufacture by manufacturer). It's an important aspect of bike geometry, but you can't stand over these newer geometries unless you're standing at a fixed point. Once again, frame size affects overall bike size. Choose a bike with care; bike fit is the most important aspect of your purchase, and it encompasses all of the components of a bike's geometry that contribute to a good fit.
As you can see, my supervisor was on hand to ensure that I didn't make any mistakes! I'm not a bike mechanic, but this was super simple to put together. The instructions were fairly straightforward, and it took about an hour to install the tire and chain, as well as set the proper seat length and align the handle bars. I took it for a short but quick ride (about 5 miles) and had no problems; the shocks absorbed potholes, curbs, and other obstacles, the gears shifted smoothly, and there was plenty of coasting on flat roads and sidewalks.
I didn't believe it in the least, and the packaging appeared to be in good condition. Stock heights, top, bottom, and flat storage were all carefully considered. With even rudimentary knowledge of how to use a screwdriver, the assembly took only ten minutes. Keep in mind that one of the peddles is threaded in the opposite direction from the others to prevent it from disassembling during the cranking process. All of the derailleur and brake adjustments were done wet at the factory and were perfect. The bike is a blast to ride, and I don't think there's another bike in this price range that comes close.
I believe that the package should include an INSTRUCTION MANUAL, but whatever. You'll be done in 30 minutes if you watch a YouTube video on how to put it together.
Super fast shipping, I love the color, and the bike itself is fantastic. If you've never worked on a bike before, it's worth hiring someone to put it together for you, but they did provide some high-quality tools. This is replacing my very old Mountain Bike, which was stolen. I wanted something capable of doing the occasional trail, but my serious mountain biking days are long gone! The Red looks great, and the frame style is equally appealing, with adequate components for the intended use.
When it arrived, it was packaged as new, despite the fact that it had been purchased "used" for a great price. Everything worked after assembly, which was very simple and straightforward. However, I did have to make a minor adjustment to the rear derailleur, which was no problem at all. The bike's quality exceeds my expectations for what I thought was a high-end Walmart bike; it's a beginner's bike, and it's certainly nothing compared to other high-end bikes. However, for a bike that costs less than $500, it's been very nice so far. I added a rear rack and hauled my two-year-old son in a Thule seat and my four-year-old daughter in a pull-behind. The triple crank is an added bonus. I am very happy with my purchase.
