Questions & Answers

What if I have ball bearings on my ?

I've found this to be one of the best products I've ever found for lubricating engines and it should also work on ball bearings. If you want, you can probably use it on any rollerblade ball bearing.

No matter what the weather is, it works
5/5

During the years, I've tried a number of different lubricants. The best I have encountered is Rock N Roll Ultimate Dry, and I have been satisfied with Rock N Roll ever since. It took me until Dumonde found its way into my system. lubes are clean as long as you wipe down the chain after every use, but the Dumonde appeared to stay cleaner longer, especially when they were wiped down after each use. Why did I give it only two stars based on the value of the product? The cheap bicycle lube sold everywhere is deceiving us cyclists because the price is outrageous on numerous items, one of which is lube. I normally would only give the value a rating of one star, but because the Dumonde lube lasts longer than others, I gave it two stars instead, as the cost for only 4 ounces of 30 cent lube was $16. Other than the huge complaint regarding cost, I am still going to purchase the Dumonde Tech Lite based on its great Besides, the difference between Dumonde Tech and Tech Lite is that the Tech is more of a wet lube intended for weather conditions when it is raining, but I've found the Lite holds up just fine during rain, and it is If you are going to use this lube it's important that you first clean the chain and gears so well that no marks appear on the cloth after wiping the chain's surface and this might take up to 3 maybe 4 cleanings to get the chain like that. Wait for the solvent to completely dry after cleaning is completed. I waited overnight for the solvent to dry. You should now follow the directions to apply the lube. However, for the first application, you should apply one drop of lube per roller. When that is done, you should rotate the chain about a dozen times and then wipe it. It is all outlined in the instructions, so don't hesitate to follow them. You apply the oil again, wipe, and wait for it to dry for about 4 hours, after which you reapply it, wipe, and wait for it to dry again. Then ride the bike for a couple of dozen times, wipe it and apply 3 or 4 drops on the chain, back pedal a few dozen times, and wipe the chain again Thereafter, you only need to wipe the chain down after every ride and only apply new oil when you hear it making noise.

Definitely the best chain lube when conditions are dry
5/5

Since the weather has been dry in Northern California for the past four years, we rarely have to worry about rain. You can select such a lubricant by checking the instructions on the bottle It's impossible to find a better version than Dumonde Lite. As a precaution and at the risk of looking a bit OCD, here's my foolproof application method [1] Clean your chain thoroughly before using it. Not only should you remove all the grime, but you should also strip away all previous lubricant. It is standard practice to change the lubricant whenever it is time. [2] Apply one drop of [3] Lubricate all pins and run the chain forward for 1 minute after that It will take 2 minutes to complete. We're in for a messy situation A big Amazon box can be used as a ground cover. [4] With a clean shop towel, run the chain backward to clear it of 99% of [5] Refer to Repeat steps 2 and 3 for application of lube My rinsing routine does not follow that of the rinse-rinse regimen I know you said to repeat the shampoo instructions, but here it really makes a [6] Run a clean shop towel along the chain and push the chain backwards until "almost all" of the lube is removed. You want a thin film of lubricant to be visible on the finger when you apply it. Using the strategy outlined above you will be able to develop a rock-solid foundation A solid base for riding for more than 300 miles in dry weather. The chain's noise will be more noticeable than your tires, as other reviewers wrote. As soon as the chain gets loud, it is time to re-tire Send your application. Getting the job done becomes easier here [A] With a clean shop towel, run the chain backwards and remove 99. 9% of the lubricant and grime. [B] Apply one drop of Dumonde Lite to every [C] Ensure all the pins are lubricated before moving the chain forward for 1 minute. A minute and a half. We're in for a messy situation A big Amazon box can be used as a ground cover. Wipe off some of the lube on the chain using a clean shop towel. You want a thin film of lubricant to be visible on the finger when you apply it. I give Dumonde Lite two thumbs way up. Not only does it give better rides, but it also gives my chains a longer life.

The chain became filthy much faster thanks to this
3/5

It's a good line, but about as effective as boeshield and triflow. After each ride, I still have to clean the chain to remove black grime. And yes, I cleaned the chain and wiped it off after applying the coating. A cleaner is more effective than any other lubricant. It would be nice to have a drip tube for it like tri-pod A flowing process. This product goes on very thin and runny. Follow these steps By now it is late September and I have put on almost 1400 miles with this bike and It really is a pain how dirty the chain gets after a ride. And NO, I did not put on excessively, and YES, I did wipe off the excess after working it in. I apply and wipe off the cream just as I would with Nickel Connex chains with Dumond are black again after just 20 miles. I wipe the chain down after my 20 mile ride, and after the next 20 mile ride, it's black again. Not to mention, the nickel is more likely to attract grit I also had trouble getting the Dumond off the chain so when I switched back to TriFlow it was a real pain. There is one bike that is my primary and one that is my This bike with Dumond is ridden about 40% of the time, while the other bike with TriFlow is ridden about 60% of the time. It is quieter and cleaner on the bike with TriFlow chain after 100 miles than it is on the bike with Dumond chain The buildup of Dumond is also harmful Grit built up on the gears and teeth of the machine. I am going back to TriFlow since I have used it for several years and have logged about 12,000 miles. It would be nice to bring this Dumond stuff back to life, or better yet, just throw it away and save somebody else the hustle of dirty drive trains.
