Questions & Answers

An intruder can just unbolt it with a screwdriver, so what's the point?

It is impossible for something to be completely stolen This is evidence. The thief will get what he or she wants if they really want Even so, anything you can do to make this as noisy and time-consuming as possible will help reduce the likelihood of a break-in. There may be much easier targets in your area than you, so thieves may not bother in your They would have to remove the cover, remove the hammered-on screws, as well as the splined screws, in order to access the bolts After unscrewing the screws, you will be able to locate the caps on top and the ball bearings below. They would have to spend a lot of effort and time on it, and they would probably make quite a bit of noise at the same time. In my opinion, thieves are unlikely to bother with this stuff unless you have something really valuable and there is no one nearby. The chain anchor on this bike is about as safe as you can get.

If you want to move it to another location, how difficult would it be to remove it? What is the process of moving (for example, going to a new location)?

After you install the metal bolt covers as instructed, you may need to pound them in to place in order to remove them. The speculation is purely based on the fact that I have never moved my after it was installed.

Is this device going to cause any damage if installed?

Bolts provided by the manufacturer were used to embed it in fresh concrete. As I installed it, I did not have to drill holes, and there has been no damage. I apologize for the long explanation. I hope it helped!

What is the wood compatibility of this product? My house is facing the street. I want to anchor my bike to the side of the ?

It is made to be used with In no time at all she could rip that out of wood. offers a wall anchor specially designed for use with wooden walls that they call the Shed Shackle.

An anchor screw that did not hold well
3/5

The anchor screws are sh*tty, so one star deducted. It has already been pointed out that the anchor screws provided by kryptonite are terrible. By pulling out the anchor with my bare hands after installing them and tightening them down, they could be removed. There was a problem with the anchor screws. These were difficult to remove, but with a tweezers and needlenose pliers, they came out. The torx security screws (3-inch) are 3/8 inch As the little metal balls provided by Kryptonite would not fit into the new screws, I glued bbs into the screw heads with super glue. I gave it one star for the "composite" itself To make the cover stronger and to frustrate a thief from cutting through to reach the anchor shields, there should be some kind of metal shield around part of it. Due to its plastic nature, the entire cover has to be thrown away. The other aspects of the ground anchor make it appear quite strong.

The mounting instructions do not exist for the truck
4/5

It appears on Amazon that the bolts can be used for trucks, truck beds, trailers, and more, but the bolts aren't useful for anything except The bolt is locked in place with a steel ball, but truck mounting bolts are not available The bolt is hammered into the ground to achieve a positive fit. When I called customer service, they recommended that I go to a hardware store and contact a A picture of the anchor mounted on the bed of a truck even appears on the back of the box. The information provided is not My call was put on hold, and I was hung up on. Please correct
My engineers called me back, and they said that I can use the same bolts. All I have to do is remove the four outer shells surrounding the bolt, which are Rather than a lock nut, lock washer, and washer, I went with an ordinary lock nut and My first thought is to round off the nuts with a dremel to prevent them from being removed. Having a picture of the product mounted on a truck on the installation manual would be helpful, especially since they provide instructions for mounting it on a truck in the installation manual.

An anchorage of heavy duty fasteners that you cannot find anywhere else anchors a massive shackle to the floor Ensure that you assemble the parts carefully
5/5

The size of this thing is enormous. It surprised me to see a large, heavy package on my porch. I didn't remember ordering anything so big and When I saw the quantity of cat food I ordered, I thought, "24 more cans?". This black, round part has two holes of 4 mm in it and is made of lightweight plastic. Over the bracket's bolt you can mount it on the ground, it provides a pleasant cover. I set these bits aside and bought two more bits for my collection since the drill came with the recommended SDS+ bits, but I have a DeWalt 577 drill, so I need those. For anchoring to the floor, the instructions are clear and accurate, and guide you through the process so that you don't end up with holes all over the place, as it warns. First drill a 5/8" hole, then you drill a 5/16" pilot hole guided by the bracket, then you bore out the second hole to be 5/8", and you do the same thing for the third To get the concrete dust out of the holes, I used a shop vac. One of the masonry anchors failed to adhere to the hole in the wall, and two others worked properly. Because the pieces are magnetic, I retrieved them and spent an hour trying to put them together again. After a night's sleep, I came up with no solution. I reassembled the fastener by building it around a 7/16" diameter rod (not the 3/8" bolt) the following morning, and it was back in working order within five The original screw came apart because the hole was not deep enough (off by 1/8") and there was a burr along one side. That is what I know now because it came apart again. I fixed the hole, reassembled the fastener, and it all worked. I like it a lot. Even if the front door is open as I drive off, I will at least be able to find my bike I'm amazed at how far one has to go to stop someone from hurting you It is a crime to steal. Please note My circlip pliers helped spread the spring by using two rubber bands, a 7/16" rod, and two rubber bands. I just thought you might like to know.

I highly recommend this product
5/5

It is very secure and well constructed. The following suggestions are for installation (some of which have already been mentioned). I.
1. Anchors supplied by the manufacturer work well if they are properly installed. If the bolts are partially threaded, do not hammer them into the concrete. A bottom mount will allow the end nuts to be pushed out. 1. . 2. Make sure you have a hammer drill on hand. Ten minutes was all it took to drill holes into my garage slab with the drill bits that came with it. Lastly, 3. According to the directions in the provided package, use the anchor frame as your guide when drilling the holes. Each hole must be drilled one at a time and the bolts must be threaded into the U-shaped hole In order to move forward, shackle the rope so that it does not move during the process. If you drill holes straight, make sure they are square. Item 4. With a vacuum or compressor, vacuum out or blow out the residue trapped in the holes after they've been drilled. 4. *br The holes should be filled with a small amount of concrete adhesive before the anchors are driven The sixth point. The bolts should be threaded into the anchors and tightened prior to placing the U-bolts Plating on top of the shackle. During the process of securing the shackles over the bolts, the anchors will bite into the holes and the threads will get to the bolts. This is done to ensure the anchors will stay in place. This is all I have to say. Chain measuring 13mm (1/2") in diameter fitted with a sheath fits through U-shaped holes in the chain Yin and yang.
