With this lock, you are getting the best gold rating out of all "U" locks. There were no significant differences between the Kryptonite NY and NY products. There are a few cons, however, such as this lock weights considerably less and looks much better (not bright orange). This lock does cost a bit more, however it is well worth it if you want to protect your property. The use of a "U" lock can be challenging, as it depends on the configuration of your bike and the type of rack to which it will be attached. A supplementary cable should be used to secure your tires.
