Questions & Answers

The seventh is the most important. What is the actual width of the U based on the 9-inch dimension in specs?

There are exactly nine inches from the inside of the U-shaped area to the front of the door When the bolt is at its highest point, the locking lever is in its There are seven of them. Dimension 9 is the distance from the surface of the U to the rim of the cone The locking mechanism is secured by a bolt. Basically, it is the difference in thickness between the U and the L

When securing it to the bike frame, how do you do it?

The lock is attached to the bracket with a clamp that screws into an available tube, and you slip the receiver end of the lock into the bracket so that it aligns with the hole where your ulock will be inserted.

Are you aware of how high this item's hardness scale is?

The only thing I can tell you is that they would be better off cutting into A great light weight lock, and I know a few things about security and how to breach it. The goal is to make the other bike easier/harder to grab so that yours is harder and takes longer than the other. I use this to fix the front frame and wheel to a post and kryptonite to fix the back wheel and frame to a post. The problem is, if they want it, they will get it, but this is an excellent

Selected User Reviews For Abus Granit X-Plus 540 U Lock

The safety is high and the weight is low
5/5

With this lock, you are getting the best gold rating out of all "U" locks. There were no significant differences between the Kryptonite NY and NY products. There are a few cons, however, such as this lock weights considerably less and looks much better (not bright orange). This lock does cost a bit more, however it is well worth it if you want to protect your property. The use of a "U" lock can be challenging, as it depends on the configuration of your bike and the type of rack to which it will be attached. A supplementary cable should be used to secure your tires. Don't forget to register your keys with Abus as well.

It's a good lock to use The advertised selling point is misleading or obstructive
4/5

Various reviews within the internet have done many tests on it showing that it matches up to the Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit, but don't take my word for it, as there are more online reviews that speak for themselves. The frame mount that comes with it is also a great feature. I think it's time to tell you why you should dock to Basically, it applies to any lock advertised by Abus as being able to be matched from your lock. There are two different levels of keys with these locks, and they cannot be matched. The locks that advertise that they can be matched to other locks fail to clarify that there are 2 different levels of keys. A lock from Xplus can only be matched with another lock from Xplus, and a lock from YourPlus can only be matched with another lock from YourPlus. This isn't a big deal on its own, and I understand that the higher end models (such as this one) use a more advanced key system, however it means that you won't be able to match it with your e-bike's A second point to consider There's also the much more pressing issue of It must be accomplished the following in order to get a matching lock and key Please note *br*br*- Get the code off of the first lock and then buy the second lock -- Look for a store that can order Abus for you. (Amazon and many other online retailers will not be able to assist you. ) I hope the store that does it knows how to do it. In talking to two bike stores that carry Abus, I was told to call various people at each store to find out if it was even something that they could do and then they asked me how to do it. It took four different people to learn how to do it, he told me, after finally finding someone who knew how. A five-month wait for the lock to be delivered by Abus (this may have been slowed by COVID, but Abus claims he had to wait at least two months even before COVID). Please note
decide to proceed, you'll have to pay 20% more than MSRP (this means that you take a lock that you could probably find for less than MSRP, pay MSRP on it then add 20% more for the additional value). There is nothing wrong with Abus offering matching keys, but when that process is so tedious (months to get a lock) and costly (buying this lock again to match would result in me paying 85% more than I pay for it now), It may just be easier to carry an additional key for most people. As far as adding or replacing keys, I heard that process is similar in that you need to order it through an authorized dealer, pay quite a high fee and wait weeks to months for it to arrive, but at least I can see a use case where it is useful.

I wish you all the best Turn the key
5/5

My only experience with U-verse is with cheap u-verse It came with cheap locks. Now I have an a bike that needs to be protected There are no other good quality u-shaped tubs I've tried Although this lock feels sturdy and the key action is smooth, it is not as robust as some others. The Kryptonite locks are known for jamming too often, so we ended up getting In spite of its lightweight construction, this lock feels heavy when compared with a high security Kryptonite lock of similar strength. It is one thing to have weight in specs, but it is another to carry it There's a lot of pressure on this one. This lock comes with a carrying holder that can hold it almost anywhere on your bike. I would not recommend carrying it in a holster around your waist when commuting. This lock must be carried on the bike or inside a bag. Bypassing a better lock takes more time, so a thief will take longer to break in. Make sure your lock is of high quality. A lot of people spend much money on their bikes but it depends on how much you have spent on your bike or if you just can't afford to lose your work tool (bike). Even a cheap one is better than none at all.

The product is very well constructed
5/5

In this case, the U-shaped curve I find the lock to be extremely well made and lighter than I My rear wheel, frame, and a thick bike rack will all fit comfortably through it. This would not be the case with a standard version. I have no problems with the key. A holder is provided with the lock so that it can be attached to the frame of your bicycle. It works great, stays in place even when I ride over tough terrain, jump curbs, or go over a lot of bumps. My bike is much more comfortable rode to the grocery store now that I have this lock and that I am able to lock it up while I shop at the grocery store.

What is the best university A lock is the most secure device U-tube is the best U-tube I've ever seen On the market, there is a lock
5/5

I designed this lock because it is extremely tough and has a DUAL locking system when most U-locks do not Unlike other types of locks on the market, these all have I own an expensive bike like I do, and after all, it's not cheap, so if you want to protect it, then it's well worth it. The German engineering of this lock is unparalleled it is also surprisingly lightweight for its strength, contrary to some reports here. You simply cannot compare German engineering with anything else. I apologize for the Kryptonite reference.

This lock seems to be of good quality based on initial impressions
5/5

an excellent lock. I did find that it was quite difficult to find the perfect place on the bike to place it so that it won't touch my legs while I'm riding, but by hanging it from the top at an angle I was able to remove it quite
Don't pay any attention to the person who gave the lock three stars with regard to the bike mount, it was designed that way because the mounting screws into the mounting box (the long lines on the mounting box). I think it is a great lock in general.

There is no such thing as a 'thief-proof lock'
5/5

There are plenty of U locks on the market, but this one is the best. In some cases, thieves will steal your bike if they are determined to get On a busy parking lot, it was ripped out of the back of my pickup truck. Their tool of choice was a power tool for cutting It works very well to lock the bike and mount it to the wall. In order to avoid buying a new lock, I have spoken to Abus to see if I can buy a U shackle in addition to the U shackle. Though I am sorry to have lost, I still think that this is the best lock available.
