Questions & Answers

I imagine you would have to lock it to something really thin to make it work! Are you expanding or contracting it?

The lock is more of a cable and chain lock, but it would certainly work as a padlock if your hasp was large enough. In my case, I used it to secure the two ends of a 30-inch Flex Steel Cable from Schlage 999270. Here's a look at the foot. From 375 to Measured in inches. The item does not expand in any way.

A new york lock and an evolution series 4 lock have different features. What's the difference?

For me, New York lock is the way to go. In addition to being cheaper in price, evolution is also built differently. On the inside, it's made of plastic. In New York, there are two metal walls. Youtube has a lockpicking lawyer you can watch. It is explained in a video he has.

It's obvious that one would want to know how heavy the thing is! I'm not referring to the shipping weight, but to the actual lock weight. ?

While the lock itself is heavy, I sleep better knowing I'm protected by it as well as a motorcycle chain I bought (separately) for my bicycle, and no one has My usual journeys are 16 miles, a maximum of 40 miles a day, and I am not bothered by it at all.

This lock is very nice! There are many features that make this lock strong
5/5

They're the ones who take care of my very expensive custom motorcycles. Without spending quite a bit, it would be hard to obtain this much security. In the end, I gave it only 4 stars as the product does not meet the industry's standard. It is pickable by someone with the right tool and knowledge, and the part that holds all the important parts is made from The best thing would be if the material were even zinc. Although it is a bit pricey, it is still a good buy. The interesting thing is I have a New York lock of the same size, and it is identical to this. The one major difference is the shackle on the New York version is 1mm larger. The difference between 14mm and 15mm is significant. The evolution on the other hand is almost $30 dollars cheaper, which is a much more attractive offer. Then you can save yourself some money by upgrading to the new system. The internal parts are as the exterior part of the lock. I have included two photos to demonstrate that they are exactly alike. As can be seen on the right, it has the Evolution internals (although the locking pawls are no longer inside the body, just like those included with the New York lock.

It turns out that Schlage is the antidote to Kryptonite
5/5

As far as I am aware, someone has not stolen my trailer yet. I can't speak to thefts in general. There is no resistance, but the lock appears to be strong. It took some time to understand from reviews whether the lock would work with the massive door.

As opposed to freaking out as many reviewers have done In spite of letting it sit locked on my motorcycle for over a month, it refused to open
3/5

It is common to lock in place the keyway and tumblers, particularly the deepest ones. The problem is not as complex as many reviewers may have thought. Instead of freaking out, I examined it closely. WD40 was put inside the keyway and worked like a charm Do you know what it is? Within three or four minutes after I shot two shots of WD40 and worked the key back and forth, the door popped right open. In the future, it will be better if frequency lubrication will keep the lock mechanism from going to the grinder.

It would be best if you removed the plastic key hole door before purchasing this lock
3/5

In the middle of the day, I spent two hours on the sun removing a piece of plastic that had gotten inside the key hole and would not allow me to insert the key all the way (it once broke away from the little plastic door covering In my research I read a lot of reviews that mention people having a difficult time with this type of lock, and I always considered they had either done something wrong or that these reviews had been written by competitors in an attempt to lower their rivals' rating. However, this knowledge has come to me now. I just don't like the design, and the materials are awful.

A motorcycle disc lock that is both rugged and adaptive
5/5

The disc lock on this motorcycle is awesome! I use it to secure my chain to the bike in bad parts of town, and I also use it by itself when I'm just out and don't want to carry a chain. It's small enough to be carried easily, and it looks solid when locked to the bike. Because the yellow color is bright enough to act as a deterrent, as well as making my bike more difficult to steal, I like it. In addition to being wide, this shackle can fit most discs on most bikes and still have room to add a chain to it, but it is also very thick (good for preventing cutting) which can be problematic if your disc only has inconspicuous holes. Having said that, I am also able to toss it around the rear sprocket with no issues, and the rubber coating is sleek and protective, so it doesn't damage the bike. I will update this post if there are any problems.

I would recommend this disc lock to everyone
5/5

In my opinion, it was cheaper to purchase this separately than from a set, hence I bought it together with a Schlagle Loop Chain. Moreover, my motorcycle's brake discs aren't cross drilled, so the smaller disc locks won't have any use on it. With this I am able to run the cable between the brake disc and hub thanks to the small gaps between them. I now run it through a link on the loop chain, which I have fastened to a pole that I have 4) I like the red of the lock. It serves to remind me that it is there and lets me know that it is there. If you want to be a thief, go somewhere else. I find it handy that the key has a light since I normally get off at 3 am. The only complaint I have is that the bale may sometimes require a little extra force to be able to be pushed Moreover, its weight makes it difficult for you to take in your backpack despite its strength.

I love it! A burglary led us to buy five of these after one of our FZ1s was stolen
5/5

Since then, I have not experienced any issues. For this reason, you may prefer to get the cord that attaches to the handle bar so you won't forget that it is.

Ideal for using as a locking link on Schlage cinch-ups There is a security chain around the ring
5/5

In this case, the lock was purchased primarily for use as the locking link for a Schlage 12mm cinch-bolt There is a security chain around the ring. Kryponite locks are tough and well built, and this one is no exception. Basically, I use this chain combo with my Kryptonite/Schlage mountain bikes to secure them to my truck during one of those bike trips where I park and leave the truck somewhere at a public place for an errand or something like that. However, you should keep in mind that this or any other brand of lock/chain combo will not guarantee safety when you lock your bike to a lamppost and leave it there overnight. There can be no such thing as an unbreakable lock or chain to a determined thief. It is worth noting that this lock/chain combination should be strong enough to prevent a thief from making a quick break for your bike, especially if the bike is on a visible high-profile rack Where the traffic is. These crooks are dissuaded from attacking the area by the combo, which is equally intimidating to them.
